am acting as guarantor for my daughter. I have done this for 4 years through accommodation whilst she was at Uni. Never have I dealt with such an inapt organisation. endless emails for more information. One question,how long have you lived at you present address 34 years what day and date did you move in. at the address before that what day and date did you leave and what date did you move into that address. All shear madness. A very low tech Company

We were told that the whole process takes 2-4 hours after everything is uploaded. It has been 2 weeks now and they asked for extra documents - job contract. Most likely will take another 2 weeks to review that. And they said that they might not be able to review it by the move in date. Would not recommend because it takes veeeery long time to get approved. My application process is fine but partner has a headache. We are due to move in in few days and each day we call them they say we dont know, we cant help, provide us this, provide us that and when all is provided they say that sorry but we have not received anything. We sent them by email, upload it on site, even letting agent sent them our documents but they keep telling that we do not have anything and you just need to wait and nothing is their problem. Would never recommend to anyone. I guess you can use it if you move in date is 3-4 months from the day you open lettingshub. Otherwise you will have a stressful time.

I have been a tenant, a houseowner and a landlord at various points, so I know how processes should go. I recently moved to be closer to family and decided to rent until I got to know the area better and uploaded everything that Lettingshub asked for as soon as it was asked for. Job done I thought. How wrong I was! Endless issues regarding job contracts, demands to upload more info (which had already been uploaded), telling me that my employer hadn't provided a reference when I was cc'd on the email they sent to LettingsHub with that reference. Emails sying things were completed, followed by emails the next day saying that I hadn't sent the things they said they had completed actions on. Extremely long waits to verify other references. Rude emails when I explained to them the issues on their side. If I ever rent again, I will make sure that it is with an agency that doesn't use these muppets for checking details.

“We make renting easy” : this is how they describe themselves on Instagram. The technology seems to be their best bet. THIS is all FALSE. The tech used is just a website with a bunch of forms. Real technology gets reference checks done in 1 day, not one month. UNBELIEVABLE! Having said this, Lettings Hub is so unprofessional. I uploaded my documents and everything; the portal says all checks completed. I try to contact them, and every time someone tells me, “we don't have your references yet”, and they ask me to upload them again. I have sent my references via the portal and email, but the colleagues at lettings hub don't communicate with each other. My tenancy start date already passed, but they don't care...not even a bit. I'm now homeless because these incompetent people can't read an email from my employer N.B. If you have many applications to handle, don't get more applications, we tenants don't care about how busy you are. It's been a month behind this silly thing and you have all my reference documents. Apparently they just want to make money without taking care of their customers. I see people writing good reviews here... well maybe you were just lucky, maybe someone decided to read your references as they should.

Appalling. Ridiculous amount of due diligence for a student rental. As a guarantor have asked for 2 years data from my bank account, 3 payslips, copy of my employment contract and a reference from my employer when the rent liability is only 7200 GBP for the entire term of the contract. AND no one picks up the phone!

Would rate 0 if I could. Had the most terrible experience with lettings hub. We were meant to move into a new house in 2 days time but just found out this morning that apparently lettings hub have failed our referencing check!! I phoned them to try find out why but they refused to discuss the outcome with me! The whole process has been going on for around 3 weeks now. We provided them absolutely everything - 6 months bank statements, Tax returns, accountants reference, landlord reference. We earn a decent income and have always paid our rent and on time. Never have I ever experienced such a stressful and ridiculous referencing check! And then at the very last minute, we find out that we have failed their so called referencing checks and might now be homeless as we have given notice on our current house and was due to move in in 2 days time!! They’ve had our documents for weeks, we’ve given them absolutely everything. Our accountant had to reply to them numerous times with his reference. Absolute Joke of a company! Scam artists! Avoid at all costs

Acting as guarantor for my brother/father in law; horrendous experience! Forms are lengthy & intrusive, emails request information that has already been provided or is in-appropriate, uploaded documents are deleted & then re-requested. Had to involve the agents in the end as we reached stalemate with info they wanted over & above that which I was prepared to give purely as a guarantor; I could have got a mortgage & not given over so much personal info! I If I had this much trouble just as a guarantor, heaven help anyone who is looking to rent & their agents use this Company.

Reference part is impossible, gave them information 5 times and still the referees haven’t been contacted. Ask them what is taking so long and they say they are waiting on references... how can you get references if you continually fail to request them!! Having to chase them up twice daily on the phone because nobody responds to emails and still they haven’t requested references!! Only thing they were good at was taking the money. Looks like I’m going to have to lose my deposit and go elsewhere because these guys are incapable of getting it done

Could not reiterate the below reviews anymore. Incredibly stressful service ran by completely incompetent staff. References turned down without letting us know - we regularly had to check up with them because NOBODY communicated with us, we were in constant anxiety about losing the flat. If you get the opportunity to avoid this company please do at all costs. Please ignore the obviously bated google reviews. Slow, unhelpful + incompetent.

My son nearly lost a flat due to the incompetence of this agency. Misinformation, impossible to speak to same person twice, no protocol for escalation of problem. So much stress and anxiety caused by an agency not fit for purpose.

If you need to do a reference check with them be prepared for a nightmare. Their form page does not work well, they are not accurate and will keep coming back to you even after the process seems to be finished. So you get the wrong impression all is done when it is not.

Extremely poorly run referencing company. I had my documents verified by staff and verbal confirmations over the phone that documents had been received and queued to be verified. Had to get the estate agent involved, as they took nearly a week to verify documents with the estate agent pushing through the checks. AVOID AVOID!!

They took over two weeks to process our references despite their website saying it would take 24 hours. incredibly stressful experience as they didn’t give us any additional information, we had to keep calling them everyday to get them to tell us additional information we needed to add as they kept failing our references. Everyone we talked to on the phone have us different information and the whole experience made us Incredibly stressed, upset and overall Let down. We got told one thing from one person And another from someone else, felt like a massive game of Chinese whispers and Nearly made us lose our holding deposit and homeless.

Terrible service. I posted my review a week ago but it is taken down. This company is a fraud. Needs closing down. The 5 reviews showing on google is fake, done by staff and friends. They take people’s money and do nothing when it comes to claim. I bought 6 insurances but it was not the I asked. My money should be refunded. I have ask to speak to regarding my insurances, I was told someone will call me. I am still waiting 6 days getting greys.

Awful awful company, they base their decisions on assumptions and not facts and take a long time (over 6 days) to review documents and then blatently lie about it on the phone! We uploaded all documents within 5 days and they ask for a LOT of information, 6 days after my husbands documents were submitted I rang to get an update as they don't appear to update the hub very often. I was told that they only received my husbands documents 2 days prior! I corrected the agent and he back tracked and said he had read the screen wrong - no, you just lied to me! When my husband rang, they said they hadn't been able to review as they needed yet more info from him - they didn't ring to ask or email, nothing, not a peep from them - they have enough information on us to steal our identities and yet they cannot pick up a phone! My husband is a chef and works away a lot of the time ( as a lot of chefs do due to their working hours) - the lettings hub declined his application on the assumption that he will not be living in the property! We never once said he wouldn't be living in the property, he is my husband for goodness sake, we live together! If they discriminate people for working away then they must decline every professional that  works away from home, including oil rig workers, long distance lorry drivers, people in the army etc etc. They also require a next of kin number that has to be someone who doesn't live with you - why? I can assure you if something happened to myself or my husband then a reference agency would be the last people to inform my next of kin!!  To add a cherry on the top of this abyssmal company, they then passed the buck to the lettings agent who was just as puzzled by their decision as we were - they can be assured that I will take this further, I will seek legal advice, even if only for my own peace of mind. Every 5 star review appears to name an employee - I have just read a few reviews from their actual employees who state that this company asks their employees to post 5 star reviews! So I definitely wouldn't trust the 5 star reviews as far as I could throw them! *Update - I have just spoken to someone else at their company and he confirmed that they will indeed decline every person that works away including long distance lorry drivers. Vile company - if I could give 0 stars I would.

Last year I was in a rush to get insured and this broker was through my letting agent so just went with price without looking so my fault In this regard really. What I will say though is that I never received one email or info off them. I didn’t even know my account number. Regardless, the price of cover with this company is a rip-off and id advise anyone to shop elsewhere.

They are very unprofessional people in this company. I can't believe some well-known agency still working with Lettings Hub. They are just horrible. They can't review a single document for many days. My experience with this company vas terrible. They requested a bank statement form my referencing check and I provided immediately and also made a phone call to make sure they received it. On the phone, they confirmed that they receive my document. During the day I send a couple of other emails and also phone calls to make sure they have everything they need. But interestingly the next day I received another email requesting the same document. They were saying that I did not provide it yesterday!!! It is just like a joke! I call immediately told them I already provided. A lady on the phone, she was treated with scorn and ridicule at me. Before you rent a property ask your agency to get know what referencing company they are working with. If the answer is Lettings Hub, then stay away from that agency and find something else.

Appalling service. Inefficient service (emails sent after the task had been completed, duplicated emails, incorrect information), astonishingly bad spelling and grammar; no attention to detail is indicative of poor service.
