“I went to the Trader Joe's in Viera, Fl. It was the first time I set foot in one since I moved from California back in 1989. I was hoping it would bring back some nostalgia, but it didn't. It sure didn't feel like the Trader Joe's I remember. When I checked out, I told the cashier this was my first time back since I moved from California. He tried to tell me the first one opened in Pasadena back in the late 80's early 90's. I politely told him that it wasn't because I had shopped at locations in California back in the early to mid 80's before I relocated. It just wasn't the same.”
“We bought a Grass Fed beef top sirloin to share today. The steak was $9 and the center was full of gristle and membrane.
This is my second time to give it a chance and failed both times. I won’t be buying my meats there again.”
“The instant steel cut oats I have been eating for years were discontinued last November. They took 7 minutes to cook. Now they only have steel cut oats that take 30 minutes! Yet they now have oatmeal that takes seven minutes. Everyone knows steel cut oats are better for you. I don't know if they weren't selling well or why they discontinued them. But I am very disappointed.”
“I'm usually very pleased with the Royal Oak, Michigan Woodward store, but not on my last visit. Oh, there was a few items I wanted to purchase that were missing, but the check out process was terrible. All through my $58 purchase, the cashier was chit chatting with another employee standing nearby. I watched close to see that everything scanned properly. No the other employe was not at a register. I did call and talk with a (one of them) managers, who was very nice and apoligized, but sounded disengenuous. She kind of made the excuse that they are all happy employees in the store and like to share.
Of course I did find out that a Trader Joe's is sheduled to open in Sterling Heights, but that is all up to corporate to decide where. I use to always ask when visiting stores if they would open a store near me, like Sterling Heights, but gave up after a manager just walk away from me. Or another store manager declared that they would miss me if another Trader Joo's took my business - Yeah sure!.”
“Trader Joe's is one of my favorite stores. But today is the first time I bought raw meat and seafood here. Is it so expensive for boneless pork chops at $7.99/lb? I'm going to cook it now to see what is the taste!”
