You might think you’re saving money when buying a cheaper truffle oil/salt, but the cheaper stuff loses its fragrance once you open it and just doesn’t have the same flavour. “A very mixed review this one. Firstly, great website and ease of ordering, prices were reasonable enough considering the product. The truffles and other stuff arrived on the day expected and the packaging was probably the best I have ever seen, you have no reservations of ordering online when your order is packed so well! Now to the truffle itself, the most important part. It looked fantastic, good condition and smelt fine but sadly, its taste did not match the previous meals I had with truffles or my expectations. We ate it that night: tagliatelle, cheese, oil, butter and 80% of the truffle, shaved and grated. Tasted nice but was not blown away; the aroma was muted, like the taste so I'm not sure what I did wrong, was it my cooking or the truffle? Maybe I'll try again. Hopefully the other products will fare better (truffle salt and some preserved truffle).”
