as a commercial fleet driver our company uses Halfords who sent out universal tyres I will never recommend this company or there mobile fitters to anyone. useless communication left my number and asked to be called when fitter on way in a 90minute to 2hr window after 2 1\2 hours had to call to be told that I was to tell them when I was ready why would I do that, fitter arrived 1 1\2 hours late and no introduction no conversation took my wheel off removed tyre by hand threw his equipment on the ground then threw my rim on the floor a steel rim not alloy did not balance the wheel put it back on finished the job no manners, if you don't like your job then find another one this has made me not want to use universal tyres again and will take this up with my fleet management company terrible terrible service not a pleasant experience at all.

One of your operatives who was using your vehicle YD70 EYT in Ruskin Avenue Waltham Abbey on Sunday 21st August at around 1415. We were driving up Ruskin Avenue when your operative pulled up in front of us blocking the road, he then got out and started speaking to the driver of a Morrisons van that had a flat tyre that was parked next to the kerb, I got out and asked your operative to move so we could get passed and he said no, in fact he said call the police to move me, despite repeatedly asking him to move he refused and laughed at us, we explained we were on our way to the hospital but again said he didn’t care, he had not started the work on the vehicle and could of moved. Your operative was extremely, rude, obnoxious and found the situation funny. When he finished the job some 20 minutes later he took a picture by of our car and then followed us driving extremely close and trying to pass us on our inside and shouting at us. I am sure that this is not the kind of image you want for your company.

On this bank holiday, in Grapnells, Basildon one of its employees stopped the company's van, registration YE70UZY, in front of the house of people who had no parking space and because it is a two-way street, cars parked on both sides. It caused serious inconvenience in the traffic of trucks and bored motorists knocking on the door of my house to ask if the van was ours and for us to remove it from there. We had to keep changing cars so that these paths could pass. There are elderly, sick, small children who live on this street and have lived through days of a lot of noise because of this van blocking the street. If nothing is done, we will take other actions. Please alert your employee.

Absolute shambles (Universal- Thurrock) ... serviced car and ever since picking it up the service light kept coming on !!!! 4 times it went back.... eventually took it to fords who diagnosed solenoid sticking due to wrong grade oil used.... £450 bill - car serviced Jan 2021 Oil change and solenoid replacement needed Feb 2021 - referred to by manager ‘Rob’ as darling or babe ... not sure if he realises we are in the 21st century!! Basically answer provided was prove it’s not the right oil !!! So called the Motor Ombudsman’s and surprise surprise they have decided not to participate with the Motor Ombudsman so they are unable to pursue it for me .... that says it all really doesn’t it!! STAY CLEAR OF UNIVERSAL TYRES YOU HAVE NO WHERE TO GO IF THEY DAMAGE UR CAR OR PROVIDE A DISGUSTING SERVICE!! They obviously have no confidence in their own standard of work or customer service! Joe the previous Manager has left and it has massively gone down hill ... be very cautious about using any company that are not part of the Motor Ombudsman ..... they don’t join as they know they can’t be held accountable for their shoddy work! BEWARE PEOPLE !!!

My vehicle is Mitsubishi Colt. For brake pads, disc, and drum changing they agreed for (60 + vat 12) = 72£. I requested them to change the drum alone. They gave the same bill amount of 72£. I asked them, they said "for an hour the labor cost is charged. What would happen if I asked to change everything? & Why they agree for an amount before works start? It seems the Universal Tyres is untrustable. Getting fear to leave the vehicle for full service. I humbly request your company to not do this for the people who believes and came to you. If a single customer gets hurts like this then there is no point in doing this business.

Although we have not used this company, we certainly won’t be in future after one of their drivers almost drove us off the road. He was swerving in between lanes, driving erratically, right up behind us and impatiently smacking the side of his vehicle whilst making offensive hand gestures towards us. For a motor vehicle company, he should learn that is not acceptable and does not put this company is a good light. We will now never be using this company or recommending it if this is the kind of people the employ.

Friendly guys, but no knowledge of motorbike tyres, I picked up a puncture and was told it couldn't be repaired as it was a z rated tyre and against regulations to have it repaired, so after paying nearly £200.00 to have my michelin road 5 tyre changed I then find out that the road 5 is a w rated tyre, michelin dont even do a z tayed one, and michelin recomend that the road 5 can be repaired twice, not a very happy customer, I'm close to saying I was blatantly ripped off, but I give the benefit of the doubt and just so they haven't got a clue when it comes to bike tyres

I called into the Croydon branch to have a puncture repaired to the rear wheel of my motorcycle, when I checked the completed repair I saw that there was still a massive hole in the tyre? I have had enough tyre repairs to know that the rubber stem from the mushroom plug should be cut flush with the surface of the tyre so future tyre wear is even, what has happened is the rubber stem of the plug was just pulled off or stretched and cut causing it to be too short. I raised the matter with John at the desk who was utterly disinterested and said Naw it's ok Mate...! Disappointing as I bought a set of tyres from them, I will not be going back.

I have an unusual tyre size and many garages don’t stock it. Staines branch said that they could order it in for the next day and that I would then get the call to book it in for fitting. After no phone call I then called to check and they’ve not been able to get my tyre in. Did not bother their time to let me know and now I’ve waisted another couple of days whilst having to drive with a temporary tyre. There’s no excuse for such bad service

I took my car in for a service and mot, mileage 17454 on 18th July 2018, after checking with universal all works complete, they rang me back after a few minutes saying they had notice that there was a screw in my rear tyre and it needed replacing, I gave them the go ahead, and allowed a further 30mins for the to change the tyre on attending the Plaistow centre my car was ready but the MOT was not I had to return after an hour to collect it. Today July 21st my car warning light came on requesting that the oil needed to be changed, the mileage at this time was 17478, I checked the engine oil and it was found to be thick and very black unlike new oil that should be l light and viscus, I checked universal FAQ's for servicing and both major and interim services state "drain oil" what does this mean? is the dirty oil put back in the engine?!, As of Monday Next I will be contacting Universal for an explanation regarding the above
