One of the few advantages of being old is that you have a good idea what to expect but my experience with Utility Warehouse plumbed a new depth of hopelessness. I tried and failed to change to them for phone and broadband. As briefly as I can; visits by five engineers, four without warning, resulted in a filthy carpet but no connection. One of them cut off our Virgin line which UT refused to reconnect. They didn't reply to emails but sent four in November telling me than the connection would be made in October! Two letters to the chief exec and a threat to complain to Ofcom resulted in two letters of apology and the return of the money I paid to repair the damaged line. My advice is to avoid at all costs.

Wish I had never switched to this company ,they got me to change provider offering to pay up to £200 for early termination fee which I did ,now I have left UW within my contract but had new tenants to take over contract ,now they are asking for the £200 back ,I’ve complained of course and they offered to reduce it to £150 and I’m having to pay this back and now having to set up a payment plan to pay this back what a nightmare this is, please think twice about switching to this company it’s ended up costing me a lot more to switch to UW and nothing’s been right since and it’s caused me a lot of stress and grieve ,I would not recommend this company to anyone.

utility warehouse cash card is awful, 50% of the time the card is decLined, even though sufficient funds, if you persevere with the vendor and are prepared for the embarrassment of them trying your card 3 or 4 tmes, if might work..it's not vendor related.. So embarrassing I refuse to use it now, and phone IT for help...good luck...

Issues that I have experienced with UW. Their prices are expensive! The cash back card is unreliable and it’s hit and miss as to whether it works or not. Very often gets declined for a absolutely no reason. If you are unlucky like me and my wife to be a victim of fraud, you will have to wait for over two weeks for a refund. Banks refund the same day. The app is unreliable and often goes down. My smart meters didn’t send readings so i had to send meter readings anyway! The broadband is not great despite having the best router available from UW I still need a booster in my small three bedroomed house! The selling point by UW is that you have all your services in one bill and that they are one of the cheapest. I’ve just spent half an hour and found myself better deals on all my utilities that is saving me £50 a month!! £600 a year! and that factors in the cash back card savings. The only thing that I was impressed with is the free membership to the Gourmet society. That works fine every time probably because it has nothing to do with UW. The customer service is good when they eventually answer the phone. Very polite. That’s my experience as a customer, don’t get me started on my experience as a partner. That really is something else! Deceitful tactics in order to get in front of a potential customer to show them the presentation! But that’s the same with most MLM companies. Giving people the impression that UW is the opportunity of a lifetime and you will make lots of money. Don’t get me wrong, some do but it’s portrayed very differently when you are initially signed up as a partner. A very large percentage of partners are not active for this reason. The majority are usually correct! And the secretive group culture that suggests people have been dropped on their head as a baby if they don’t sign up to UW despite the constant “we just show people and if they don’t sign up then that’s fine” Disgusting behaviour witnessed daily that I was never comfortable with. I am sharing my own experiences and have tried to keep my opinions out of my review. Not for me anymore but make your own decisions. It maybe for you.

Appalling company when things go wrong. We had problems with them and when we tried to leave we were passed around from person to person in a war of attrition. To make matters worse their business model requires people with no experience to sell to friends and family, so we have the awkwardness of telling our friend who signed us up that we are not happy with the outcome. Save yourself the bother.
