“My honest review: our 17 day trip to Namibia and Botswana was arranged by Viatu. It was disappointed. In Namibia, we had a rental and we're self driving. We were put to some of lodges barely had any visitors. Especially Kifaru, it took us nearly two hours to drive a 24 km on a very bumpy gravel road and we were constantly worried to get flat tires. It’s impossible to visit Waterbeeg plateau park as Viatu itinerary suggests. All the lodges were long drive(45 minutes to 1 hour one way) to the places we were supposed to visit. In Botswana, we were sold the package local lodge provided to Viatu. The concierge suggested we enjoyed Boteti river since there were a day we had nothing to do. Little did he know that Boteti river had been dried for more than ten years. There’s no wildlife in the dry river. The Boteti tended lodge was three hours drive to Moremi National Park and two hours and a half from Okavango Delta one way. The foods at lodge were not good and barely enough. We had nothing to do upon on arrival day at 12:30 pm. The fourth day we spent the whole day wailing for a 45 minutes helicopter ride at 4:00 pm. There’s absolutely nothing to do at the lodge. The lodge was pretty empty. Then we were transported to Leopard Plains which is one hour away. We were the only two guests there. At least we had a waterhole to look at antelopes for the whole day. For some reason, our meals were not included so we had to pay $25 per person for lunch and $35 per person for dinner plus a tented room charges over $300 it is definitely overpriced. We used Viatu because it had good reviews. We hope that we can rely on their knowledge and expertise in the region that we are not familiar with to have a great trip. Instead they sold us an expensive itinerary maybe to make money from lodges and us.”
