“We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise but would have liked direct flights home to London. Other guests went direct but we had to change at Amsterdam. As our first flight was delayed we missed our connection and had a long wait in transit making a very tiring day.”

“Food, accommodation and service on-board was first class. Shore excursions/visits were well planned and executed. All local guides were excellent. Viking staff always helpful and friendly”

“My husband and I enjoyed the cruise but were disappointed that each time we arrived at Amsterdam we were unable to walk into the city because we were berthed miles out in the commercial harbour. This was particularly annoying on the last day when we did not leave the ship until 2.15pm. On the whole we liked the places we visited but some places there was not enough of interest for the guides to show us. The stop to meet local residents in their homes was just away of filling in the time. The ship, the staff and the food were all excellent.”

“Have sent feedback in a letter. Did not compare in any way with cruise last year. Still had a wonderful holiday, but one or two things needed addressing. Please see correspondence from myself and my husband.”

“First rate holiday to China. Great ship, great hotels, great food, great itinerary, great weather and great tour guide. We saw China at its best. We could not fault any part of this holiday. Great organisation by Viking.”

“Had high expectations after our previous cruise and were not disappointed. We had a problem in our stateroom with a wet carpet, apparently from an underfloor leak however, the hotel manager found us other accommodation which was more than satisfactory. Food and wine were spectacular and we made some good friends on board. We purchased two on board vouchers towards our next cruise although it may be a couple of years before we can take it. It was worth every penny. Highly recommended.”

“This review is based on four previous holidays with Viking. Overall we were very happy with this holiday. Most outstanding was the happy, excellent service provided by the staff, they were really excellent. Just a couple of points very good but not of the best (especially lunch time as I found not eating meat became rather boring, perhaps cheese could have been provided). Why or why do waiters bring the main lunch time course (sometimes hot) before one has finished the previous course? The chef regularly mingled with the travellers which was unique and appreciated. It would have been more enjoyable if there was increased free time during visits to relax or shop. On many previous river cruises the daily new sheet included quizzes. These we found enjoyable as it quite often brought about conversation with other travellers trying to solve the problems. One of the highlights of the cruise was the talk on Life in France Today, the woman presenting it was outstanding and very funny.”

“The ship was very comfortable as usual and the food was the best we had experienced on our 4th cruise with you.The staff were all exceptional as expected. Particular reference must be made of the hotel manager Artura, who is an absolute pleasure and a great bonus for the company. There were however problems. This is the first time we have not joined the ship straight away and this did not enhance the holiday. After a particularly long day at Amsterdam airport before arriving in Prague it was a long boring day, which does nothing to put one in the holiday mood.To a certain extent the same at the end, rather than just flying home or at least volunteering for a longer stay as we have done in Lucerne before.The Corinthia Hotel at Prague was poorly located for the city centre. The room had faulty TV ,table lamp and standard lamp.Having to leave our baggage at 8am before our daily tour and not having access until after 4pm was also not conducive to a pleasant holiday.The breakfast there was not a pleasant experience. Please give serious thought about the beginning and ending of your cruises”

“Amazing holiday, we have no complaints at all, Jenna our guide dealt with everything, we went to places we would never have seen if it was not for this tour, no queueing, no waiting everything went to plan. The internal flights, no delays and luggage dealt with by tour guide, 5 star hotels, and the river cruise was first class, wonderful boat, along with amazing staff who knew your name from first day, the food and wine were good quality. We both enjoyed out holiday immensely”

“We upgraded our cabin because we found it too claustrophobic. After that everything was great. The service was always friendly and helpful, the food was very good. The crew put on some great entertainment. The weather was glorious and all the places we visited were really interesting with well informed guides. We found the recent history particularly fascinating. We had 2 extra days in Budapest and thoroughly enjoyed it. Viking looked after us all the way including at they airport. We met lots of nice people from all over the world and I've already had several emails from some of them. We bought vouchers towards our next cruise and our now deciding where to go! This was our second Viking cruise and it was different but every bit as good as the first.”

“Our second cruise with Viking and enjoyed this one as much as the first. Only 13 Brits on board this time so met some super folk from the USA. Very well organised and with hard working and cheerful staff. Have already booked another for 2016.”

“Our recent Rhine/Moselle cruise was good as usual & if we hadn't travelled with viking cruises before would have been excellent but it lacked that little something extra that we have come to expect with viking cruises.”

“The ship was beautifully appointed and the staff were wonderful as usual. The food was sumptuous and plentiful. The one downside for us was that our toilet did not work which took the gloss off having our lovely explorer suite. The team did attend to fix the fault but by the time we left it was failing again. We found the itinerary on this cruise very fast paced. There was such a lot to do and very little of the relaxing scenic river cruising that we have come to love on cruises on the Rhine, Danube or Duoro. However all the excursions we did were excellent and interesting. The guides were all fantastic. We would recommend the cruise but probably to the younger Viking clientelle and anyone who wants to see a great deal in a short time.”

“Beautiful boat,shower unit was very good for such a vessel.All meals were excellent,especially the breakfasts.It was good to have a sizable flat sceen TV wth a range of programmes,thou'the bow camera was a bit of a waste. A negative comment-the 'gratuities'.Do the staff not have a salery?It's really quite offensive to suggest that we should tip someone more than our joint pensions.”
