My last cruise was in April 2015. I enjoyed it and the high standard was typical of all your cruises. I do however have two observations about Viking in general. 1. My main grumble is the lack of interest that you display in single cruisers. You have built a completely new fleet of river boats and are building three ocean going cruise ships but you have chosen, presumably deliberately, not to provide cabins specifically for single cruisers. In fact you are behind the curve here. Some other cruise companies are doing just this because they value this market sector which you obviously do not. The 100% supplement that you want to charge is outrageous. Where there is a reduction you are only prepared to offer single people the least desirable cabins on the boat at the last minute as though they are some kind of inferior species. 2. But also none of your staff seem to be aware of the disadvantages that single people experience on your boats. When I have occasion to discuss the dining arrangements with your staff they all say the same thing i.e. 'you can sit where you like'. But it is not as easy as that. One has to wander around the dining room trying to find somewhere to sit only to find that most people are saving seats for friends so one has to keep going from table to table to find a spare seat. I have had to do this 5 or 6 times on some occasions. Conversely, if one sits at an empty table no-one comes to join a person on their own. All the tables always have an even number of seats. Why don't you provide tables with 3, 5 or 7 seats for example? Apart from single travellers there may be groups of odd number passengers. The maître d' should be looking after this and finding a seat for all your passengers but I have never met one of your staff who does this - unlike some other cruise operators. You make great play of being able to make advance reservations on the ocean boats for different speciality restaurants but this is of little benefit to single travellers unless they want to dine alone. Your photos in your brochures tend to show nice tidy even numbers of people too. On the whole you seem oblivious to this and to the message that you are sending out i.e. 'single people need not apply'.

Have just returned from Imperial Jewels of China. Excellent holiday, well organised, excellent ship and hotels. Yangtze river did not quite come up to expectations although the three gorges and goddess stream were well worth the visit and the lock system was an interesting experience. Disappointed that we were unable to go inside the dam to see how things operated and that you no longer have the optional excursion to the Summer Palace, this might be preferential to the Peking Opera. Facilities on the ship were excellent as were the Officers and staff. Our one criticism was the lack of seating on the sun deck, there is plenty of room for more chairs and or beds. We wrote on the cruise itself that we had booked as a large party (10) . We are friends who do not meet very often but appreciate our time together especially over a meal. Although we agree with you r open seating plan in general we think that in a few instances like a group booking this could be relaxed. We had in addition one member who is a coeliac and the staff were excellent but it helps them if the person is seated in the same area for each meal

The cruise itself was first class, just as we expected. We were, however, disappointed to find the flight to Frankfurt was changed from the original one and that the KLM flights took all day to finally arrive. As a result we missed anything to do with Frankfurt. Others from our home airport had much better flights and we had booked as soon as the cruise was announced. We were also disappointed that the newly designed cabins on the Eistla are much smaller than those on the previous generation of boats. You could not readily spend time in your cabin. Finally, the mooring in Amsterdam was very disappointing, too far out and the shuttle bus service was too widely spaced for a relaxed visit to the town centre. The food on board was excellent but the German Night was, for us, unsuccessful. Much more guidance was needed on how to negotiate the unfamiliar food items on the buffet. The crew was the friendliest and most helpful of any cruise we have been on, river or ocean alike. The atmosphere was, therefore, conducive to a very good holiday. On the whole there were many more pluses than minuses and we would certainly be happy to sail with Viking again but we would certainly be more vigilant about the flights booked for us.

This cruise never matched the Viking River Cruises, the ship just seemed to have technical problems from the onset and were never resolved. Such a disappointment.

Have sent feedback in a letter. Did not compare in any way with cruise last year. Still had a wonderful holiday, but one or two things needed addressing. Please see correspondence from myself and my husband.

First rate holiday to China. Great ship, great hotels, great food, great itinerary, great weather and great tour guide. We saw China at its best. We could not fault any part of this holiday. Great organisation by Viking.

The ship was very comfortable as usual and the food was the best we had experienced on our 4th cruise with you.The staff were all exceptional as expected. Particular reference must be made of the hotel manager Artura, who is an absolute pleasure and a great bonus for the company. There were however problems. This is the first time we have not joined the ship straight away and this did not enhance the holiday. After a particularly long day at Amsterdam airport before arriving in Prague it was a long boring day, which does nothing to put one in the holiday mood.To a certain extent the same at the end, rather than just flying home or at least volunteering for a longer stay as we have done in Lucerne before. The Corinthia Hotel at Prague was poorly located for the city centre. The room had faulty TV ,table lamp and standard lamp.Having to leave our baggage at 8am before our daily tour and not having access until after 4pm was also not conducive to a pleasant holiday. The breakfast there was not a pleasant experience. Please give serious thought about the beginning and ending of your cruises

The Duro trip at the beginning of December 2014 was a fantastic week. Sailing through the narrow gorges, where you can you touch the stone wall was amazing seamanship. All the hotels/ taverns were supberb in their own way and the Flamenco dancers, and the wonderfully passionate singer in Salamanca, were exceptional. Even on the boat, and we were a small number 78, seemed like ones own private cruise. Love to do it again, maybe next Spring.

Our first Viking cruise exceeded all our expectations. We spent our time saying "this is the life, we could get used to this", and booked another cruise!

A very enjoyable and relaxing week sailing from Amsterdam to Basle. The daily briefings were very informative as were the onshore excursions lead by knowledgable local Guides. The accommodation in cabins was comfortable and clean, with picture window being great to be able to view outside locations and scenery. Food on board was plentiful and of a high standard, great to be given bottled water each time we set off on an excursion. We appreciated the opportunity to always have coffee, tea and snacks easily accessible. Staff were professional, approachable and friendly at all times. We felt the spoken suggestion in the farewell briefing of the tips we should be given unnecessary.
