We went on Rhibe cruise last year and unimpressed. Poor locations and service. We had already booked the Homelands ocean cruise and go end May. So far very disappointed with website, lack of response to simple questions and general misleading and indifferent telephone service. Fact we get this survey a year after one cruise and months before another just shows inefficiency

Everything was very good except for that wretched continuous background piped music (musac) that would disturb every waking minute in all the public areas. Lowered the tone of the whole cruise - like a cheap supermarket. And the pianist who twiddled along with nothing-type music when the musac was turned off. Not a minute of tranquil peace - it wouldn't leave us alone. The only way to escape it was to get off the boat - not the point of a river cruise.. Lots of people moaned about it but it wouldn't get turned off. Your river cruise is a peaceful, restful holiday and we don't need artificial background noise. If people want music, bring their own with ear phones. The real problem with musac is everyone has different tastes so at any one time half the people don't like what's being played. But the real problem is that it disturbs the tranquil peace of the cruise - we can't hear the lap of the water, birdsong - anything outside the boat. Great pity. And partly deaf people hated it because it intruded far more due to their hearing aids amplifying everything. You should be more concerned because many older people have hearing aids and piped music is a real problem for them - it partially blots out conversation with the person opposite. You should be more concerned with their welfare. I had to abandon my hearing aid while on the boat.

We have been on 2. Viking river cruises and I can't fault the service in any way. The one time I had a complaint it was dealt with immediately and efficiently. So much so we are booked on the Viking star the end of May if it is half as good as the Holland Amreican line I will be happy.

Excellent food, service, excursions and on-board lectures and entertainment. Only wish that gratuities are included in price.

Our Waterways of the Csars cruise was one of the best holidays we've had in over 40 years of marriage! We then also loved our Romantic Danube cruise as well, sailing into Budapest at night with the parliament building floodlit was stunning. We are now very much looking forward to cruise number 3 which will be on the Rhine. I recommend Viking River Cruises to every one and am so pleased friends told us about you!

In 2013 my husband and another couple cruised along the Danube to Budapest. We did have a small problem with the locks as the German Lock Keepers were on strike, but Viking altered the itinerary slightly so we did not miss out on any of the sight seeing tours, in fact they went out of there way to make sure we had the most wonderful holiday. We enjoyed the cruise so much we not only booked another cruise in May (wine tasting in Bordeaux) we have also booked a sea cruise with them starting in Istanbul in October. We can fully recommend Viking for a fabulous holiday and value for money.

generally thought it was very good particularly the excursions and extensions in Prague and Budapest. We thought however that the food as geared to the American market and thought there would have been more British travellers on the trip.(we were the only Brits on board) The menu in the brochure included cheese and coffee at the end of the meal but this was never offered.

The Duro trip at the beginning of December 2014 was a fantastic week. Sailing through the narrow gorges, where you can you touch the stone wall was amazing seamanship. All the hotels/ taverns were supberb in their own way and the Flamenco dancers, and the wonderfully passionate singer in Salamanca, were exceptional. Even on the boat, and we were a small number 78, seemed like ones own private cruise. Love to do it again, maybe next Spring.

It was 2 years ago we did the Danube Cruise, ending up in Budapest. The service was first class, as was the lovely food. The offshore trips were so well organised and enjoyable. A favourite was a concert in Vienna. It's on our list for a city break. We still talk about that holiday and are now going on the Portraits of France trip in June. So looking forward to this. We would thoroughly recommend trying one of the Viking Cruises. Haven't been on a large cruise ships since the River Cruise, although I know Viking have a new one with some great trips, so who knows, might have to give it a go! Thanks from Marion D

An excellent cruise, including varied special interest tours, among them a stroll in a market with the ship's chef and a visit to the BMW factory, also a trip to a brewery and a concert in Vienna, excellent food, and a varied group of passengers.

The Heart of Bordeaux was quite different to other river cruises as the itinerary was dependant on the strong tides. We seemed to be crossing the river back and forth and returning to Bordeaux which was not the impression we had gained from the brochure. Despite a problem caused by a fouled propeller, we give full marks to all staff for the way this was dealt with. As ever, our time aboard was most enjoyable and thanks must go to all the crew for the quality of service and wonderful food. The choice of shore excursions was very good . Our pre cruise trip of the Loire particularly the hotel we stayed for 2 nights in Tours was excellent.
