“We had our first cruise in 2014 with Viking and it was brilliant. We have booked a river cruise again for 2015. The service and care given to guests is very good, you are well looked after, and also wined and dined very well. The organised tours were very well done and the guides were all very good. If our next river cruise is as good we will be booking another one hopefully for 2016.”

“Very surprised to hear from you as our last (and first!) cruise with you was on the Rhine in 2013....However -service from all staff excellent, stateroom excellent, food excellent. Tours okay - some much better than others, and not all guides up to standard; e.g. guide in Heidleberg who managed to insult both Americans and British people in her pre and post tour talks, although she thought she was joking. Some guides far too personal, as we're not interested in their home lives or history, just in the sightseeing. Also, we would prefer not to be driven around in a coach so that we could see towns. On our Black Forest visit, so called, we were there (in the forest) for only around an hour because of the long journey there, although coming back along the fast route took just a short time. Had we taken the short route out we should have had an acceptable time actually out of the coach in the Black Forest area. Finally. Please include tips in your tour cost, as some other cruises do, or pay better! We really object to having a suggested amount stated for manager and crew tips at an after-dinner presentation. It is not in doubt that your service is excellent, but we would certainly expect that on a trip which is expensive compared with many other holidays.”

“Having been on eight river cruises with Viking we think that is sufficient to say we thoroughly enjoy our experience. The service is first class, as is the food and wine. Staff are always welcoming and willing to assist where ever possible. Cruises nine and ten already booked for 2015. We then progress to a sea cruise in 2016. Thank you Viking.”

“We were away over christmas which restricted the itinery with regard to visits. The cruise experience was the usual high standards of care and service we expect from Viking. The actual celebration of Christmas was low although we were also not subjected to any enforced jollity. We regularly recommend viking river cruises and are doing one again this summer.”

“Viking cruises are well organised with every little detail taken care of. Staff are always helpful and friendly. The food is of a very high standard. Guides on excursions are well informed and interesting.”

“Viking River Cruises provide a really relaxing, first class holiday. It's great to visit new cities & towns every day. The Staff are excellent & really helpful, the ships are kept spotlessly clean & have areas where you can rest & chat to fellow travellers. Free hot drinks & sometimes light snacks are available all day long. Complimentary mineral water is provided + free drinks with your evening meal. Regional flights are available at time of booking which saves time & costly overnight stays in a Hotel close to the airport. Once booked you look forward to a brilliant holiday & in my opinion Viking Holidays cannot be beaten.”

“We went on the Duro Cruise and had a fantastic time. Service, staff, accommodation ,visits ,food ,and office staff were all just excellent and we are going on the Elbe in June. We cannot speak more highly of the Viking Experience”

“Our holiday with Viking River Cruises in China (Imperial Jewels - July 2014) met all our expectations and more. The service we received both on board the river cruise and from our tour guide was throughout excellent. Great Wall of China, Eternal City, Terracotta Army - fantastic. Re excursions: we are very pleased we took all the options we could fit in - if you are advised not to take any excursion, check carefully as we found Viking guidance to be very cautious. It meant a few long days, but it was very much worth it.”

“Although disappointed that the river levels did not allow us to cruise the Elbe all the way we had an excellent holiday. This was mainly due to the staff of both vessels and the excellent tour manager. Extra visits were arranged and we had a wonderful excursion to Leipzig as an extra. Leipzig is not a place that I have ever thought of visiting but an excellent experience and visit was had. I know that we had extra coach travel that we could have done without but the tour manager tried his best to keep everyone up to date and provided excellent alternatives in my opinion. It was not his or Vikings fault that the water levels were to low to allow a cruise all the way down the Elbe to Prague. There were unhappy people on the cruise but they are the sort of people who would complain about anything making themselves miserable and the tour mangers job extremely difficult. This was our 3rd trip with Viking and we have already booked another for this year to Portugal. I would probably say that it was no3 on my list but considering the other 2 were Russia and China I think that most people would put it in 3rd place. As I said it was no ones fault about the lack of rainfall and to have a good holiday you have to make the best of all situations and we had a great time”
