“The Duro trip at the beginning of December 2014 was a fantastic week. Sailing through the narrow gorges, where you can you touch the stone wall was amazing seamanship. All the hotels/ taverns were supberb in their own way and the Flamenco dancers, and the wonderfully passionate singer in Salamanca, were exceptional. Even on the boat, and we were a small number 78, seemed like ones own private cruise. Love to do it again, maybe next Spring.”

“It was 2 years ago we did the Danube Cruise, ending up in Budapest. The service was first class, as was the lovely food. The offshore trips were so well organised and enjoyable. A favourite was a concert in Vienna. It's on our list for a city break. We still talk about that holiday and are now going on the Portraits of France trip in June. So looking forward to this. We would thoroughly recommend trying one of the Viking Cruises. Haven't been on a large cruise ships since the River Cruise, although I know Viking have a new one with some great trips, so who knows, might have to give it a go! Thanks from Marion D”

“Wonderful cruise on Portraits of Southern France. staff delightful and helpful accommodation excellent as was the food. We liked it so much we are booked on another cruise for 2015 on the Danube”

“An excellent cruise,including varied special interest tours, among them a stroll in a market with the ship's chef and a visit to the BMW factory, also a trip to a brewery and a concert in Vienna, excellent food, and a varied group of passengers.”

“The Heart of Bordeaux was quite different to other river cruises as the itinerary was dependant on the strong tides. We seemed to be crossing the river back and forth and returning to Bordeaux which was not the impression we had gained from the brochure. Despite a problem caused by a fouled propeller, we give full marks to all staff for the way this was dealt with. As ever, our time aboard was most enjoyable and thanks must go to all the crew for the quality of service and wonderful food. The choice of shore excursions was very good . Our pre cruise trip of the Loire particularly the hotel we stayed for 2 nights in Tours was excellent.”

“We had our first cruise in 2014 with Viking and it was brilliant. We have booked a river cruise again for 2015. The service and care given to guests is very good, you are well looked after, and also wined and dined very well. The organised tours were very well done and the guides were all very good. If our next river cruise is as good we will be booking another one hopefully for 2016.”

“Very surprised to hear from you as our last (and first!) cruise with you was on the Rhine in 2013....However -service from all staff excellent, stateroom excellent, food excellent. Tours okay - some much better than others, and not all guides up to standard; e.g. guide in Heidleberg who managed to insult both Americans and British people in her pre and post tour talks, although she thought she was joking. Some guides far too personal, as we're not interested in their home lives or history, just in the sightseeing. Also, we would prefer not to be driven around in a coach so that we could see towns. On our Black Forest visit, so called, we were there (in the forest) for only around an hour because of the long journey there, although coming back along the fast route took just a short time. Had we taken the short route out we should have had an acceptable time actually out of the coach in the Black Forest area. Finally. Please include tips in your tour cost, as some other cruises do, or pay better! We really object to having a suggested amount stated for manager and crew tips at an after-dinner presentation. It is not in doubt that your service is excellent, but we would certainly expect that on a trip which is expensive compared with many other holidays.”

“Having been on eight river cruises with Viking we think that is sufficient to say we thoroughly enjoy our experience. The service is first class, as is the food and wine. Staff are always welcoming and willing to assist where ever possible. Cruises nine and ten already booked for 2015. We then progress to a sea cruise in 2016. Thank you Viking.”
