Our one disappointment was our trip to Vienna; we were in the "less able" walking group and despite many requests we did not once have the opportunity to sit and rest. However this was really the fault of the guide. Hasn't put us off taking another Viking trip this year.

A extremely enjoyable holiday.Viking run the cruise very professionally with curtious and helpfull staff. The shore visits are well organised with knowlegable guides and places of well chosen interest.when a unforeseen problem arrived due to mistral winds we were all very well catered for with food ,drinks and entertainment.when we returned from our holidays we were offered compensation in terms of money off our next booking without ourselves ever lodging a complaint.

The Viking Longboats are amazing. We found the attention to detail incredible, the food, cabins and staff were wonderful.

I will shortly be leaving on my fourth river cruise with Viking and so far I have nothing but praise for the company, it's staff and the selection of cruises available. As far as value for money is concerned I would say that up until 2014 it was excellent. However, to increase prices at a time when Sterling was appreciating against the Euro and fuel prices were falling, I would say that the last increase was much too high. The new Longships are excellent with the exception of the size of the French window rooms on the middle decks which are smaller than on the older ships. However, all in all we very much enjoy the experience.

Despite your prices being on the high side, tipping on & off ship was not included. This may be because many of the passengers are American & that is the way it is done in USA. I found the Cruise Director vey annoying particularly the after dinner lectures - usually about the EU - when one could not escape as her droning voice filled all the public areas

As usual-superb, travel arrangements well organised and co-ordinated. Boat was beautiful, clean very welcoming, light and airy. Cabin very nice with a lovely atmosphere. Public areas never overcrowded, comfortable seating. Crew as always- very friendly and helpful. Food delicious, varied and complementary to the area. A lovely trip.

Excellent itinerary. Excellent food. Excellent staff. Excellent company. Excellent value for money. What more could you wish for. That's why we've just booked our fourth cruise with Viking.

Of Viking cruises we have done the Elbe was the best because the crew were so friendly and helpful.Every time we returned "home" from a shore trip we were welcomed aboard with a little something. On one occasion the Captain was on the quayside handing out chocolates. We felt part of a happy family.

Everything was perfect. From the moment we were greeted at the airport, taken to our stateroom, waited on in the restaurants and generally so well looked after by all the staff.

It would be better if there were a more European atmosphere on board. With over 50% USA clients on board it is difficult to maintain a European feel (eg if there are entertainers in the lounge the noisy bar service continues - even when entertainers are opera singers - more like Las Vegas than Vienna)

Everything about the cruise was excellent. The ship was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The crew and everyone else involved in our care, were endlessly helpful, polite and friendly. As for the food - wow!!! Can't wait to go again. Thanks to all who made it such a memorable experience.

Everything was very good except for that wretched continuous background piped music (musac) that would disturb every waking minute in all the public areas. Lowered the tone of the whole cruise - like a cheap supermarket. And the pianist who twiddled along with nothing-type music when the musac was turned off. Not a minute of tranquil peace - it wouldn't leave us alone. The only way to escape it was to get off the boat - not the point of a river cruise.. Lots of people moaned about it but it wouldn't get turned off. Your river cruise is a peaceful, restful holiday and we don't need artificial background noise. If people want music, bring their own with ear phones. The real problem with musac is everyone has different tastes so at any one time half the people don't like what's being played. But the real problem is that it disturbs the tranquil peace of the cruise - we can't hear the lap of the water, birdsong - anything outside the boat. Great pity. And partly deaf people hated it because it intruded far more due to their hearing aids amplifying everything. You should be more concerned because many older people have hearing aids and piped music is a real problem for them - it partially blots out conversation with the person opposite. You should be more concerned with their welfare. I had to abandon my hearing aid while on the boat.

We have been on 2. Viking river cruises and I can't fault the service in any way. The one time I had a complaint it was dealt with immediately and efficiently. So much so we are booked on the Viking star the end of May if it is half as good as the Holland Amreican line I will be happy.

Excellent food, service, excursions and on-board lectures and entertainment. Only wish that gratuities are included in price.

Our Waterways of the Csars cruise was one of the best holidays we've had in over 40 years of marriage! We then also loved our Romantic Danube cruise as well, sailing into Budapest at night with the parliament building floodlit was stunning. We are now very much looking forward to cruise number 3 which will be on the Rhine. I recommend Viking River Cruises to every one and am so pleased friends told us about you!

In 2013 my husband and another couple cruised along the Danube to Budapest. We did have a small problem with the locks as the German Lock Keepers were on strike, but Viking altered the itinerary slightly so we did not miss out on any of the sight seeing tours, in fact they went out of there way to make sure we had the most wonderful holiday. We enjoyed the cruise so much we not only booked another cruise in May (wine tasting in Bordeaux) we have also booked a sea cruise with them starting in Istanbul in October. We can fully recommend Viking for a fabulous holiday and value for money.

generally thought it was very good particularly the excursions and extensions in Prague and Budapest. We thought however that the food as geared to the American market and thought there would have been more British travellers on the trip.(we were the only Brits on board) The menu in the brochure included cheese and coffee at the end of the meal but this was never offered.
