Expensive - considerably more than other quotes. Quotation required upwards revision twice. Extractor and ceiling lights missing and/or not working on completion of works (later rectified after much back and forth emailing). Dry rot returned just adjacent (literally a few cm) to an area that had been treated, not covered by guarantee of work, which led to further disruption and expense.

What they said they would do originally when the job was started they said the couldn't. Their was engineer brick and they said they couldn't cut into it. The job was completed but not as originally described. The joiner i got to do my bathroom walls was appalled at the job and the cost of it.

Poor workmanship, remedial work from plasterer very poor, in the end after the third attempt from plasterer to finish work to an acceptable standard i had to result to getting in another plasterer from another company too finish the work. Wise Property Care surveyor was unhelpful when he had initially promised that my wall/roof would be replaced as before and was difficult to deal with when i complained about the substandard work carried out by Wise Property Care.

We got some work done about 5 years ago re mouldy and damp in internal wall. Followed advice received and had wall lined and a positive air pressure device fitted. Five years later we realised that the problem had returned - contacted Wise as work still under warranty - had to pay £120 to have someone come out and tell us it wasn't their fault.

I put in an enquiry and had a phone back for further information. I supplied the information and that was the last I heard until being asked to review the service. first stage was very efficient but that is as far as it went!

You quoted me for all the work then decided when doing it that one wall was not required but still billed me for full amount. I have queried this and told it will be deducted from my bill and that didn't happen. The work was done at start of January and one of the walls plaster is still wet. I advised your company of this and was told I would be contacted straight away....I am still waiting for this contact to fix the problem.

The survey was very professional and provided an instant estimate . After a delayed start on site the preparation and damp proof installation were carried out very promptly and cleanly by Grant but whoever was supposed to organise the plaster repairs forgot all about it. We expected the plasterer to arrive first thing on Monday morning but had eventually to ask Ross the surveyor on Tuesday morning to intervene. He phoned back to let us know the office would be in touch to say when the plasterer would arrive but a whole day has again passed without any such information. It is quite unacceptable to leave us without our bedroom indefinitely.

Please allow me to say that the actual work carried out by Wise was professionally completed but in my opinion the experience of dealing with Wise has been badly let down by poor communication and a billing system that is not suited to domestic customers .

Although there had been an initial consultation it did not pick up a bigger problem. This involved over twice the original cost and huge disruption. My personal belongings were covered in dust and I could barely live in the flat. Wall paper was ripped off the wall - without consultation. I had to get walls re-plastered and wall-papered at great cost and inconvenience.

We have spoken with the surveyor who visited your property and he confirmed that the job needed was indeed bigger than the one detailed at the initial survey. Unfortunately this can sometimes be unavoidable when further damp problems, hidden from view, are discovered when work starts. This is the second time we have contracted Wyse to fix dry rot problems in our house. Generally the workmen have been very good and professional but the finish of their work has been hampered, and less than perfect, due to time pressures of having to move on to to other work. For example: the first plastering by an excellent plasterer has cracked - this shouldn't happen; gaps are left between walls and new wood facing. While these may appear small matters, for a bill of over £5,000 for three and a half days work we would expect them to be sorted and not left to the householder to fix for themselves. We would not recommend Wyse to anybody else as they do not provide value for money.
