“I wish I had read these reviews. Do not order from this company. A personalized book was ordered for my husband. The delivery date came and went, plus another 10 business days. finally, they offered to send another book "free of charge". This means they will keep my money and not charge me a second time. This was not acceptable to me since the whole idea and plan of the gift is now gone. They did not offer a refund or a discount. Still waiting for the replacement but not hopeful.”
“I was extremely disappointed with the product. I purchased a first birthday book for my grandson. For the value of what I paid which was $130, the product was nothing like it was advertised. I selected premium add ons such as the hard cover and flat pages, but the book was so thin and had paper pages. Such a let down. I will not be shopping with Wonderbly again and I do not recommend them to anyone else.”
“I ordered the "Your ILife in Newspaper Headlines" book for my husband's birthday, which has the first pages of newspapers every year from the time of my husband's birth to present day. We were so disappointed because you have to have a magnifying glass to read them. Have never seen such small printing in my life. Even my 20-something daughter (with better eyes than I) could not read it. Waste of money.”
“I received the book today and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. It's clearly photocopied and not even photocopied well. There are pages that are smeared and there are some pages that have something that seemed to be on the screen when it was copied. There are dark spots that are illegible and the text is so small that I'm going to have trouble reading it, let alone my 95 year old grandfather who the gift was for. I am so disappointed. I thought it was such a creative idea to give for a gift. The quality of this is nowhere near what I paid for it.”
“Sent to wrong address due to pre-fill from my Paypal account - where I no longer live (I'm actually in a different country now). When I received the confirmation email, there was a link to change the address which did not work. Consequently, I immediately sent through an email to correct the address, and there was no response. The address must have automatically gone through as it is the address connected to my Paypal account. There should have been a page where I could fill out my address (I thought this was a bit strange, but assumed I would add it after selecting my payment details), or even a page where I could double check my address before confirming my order - there was neither.
Wonderbly offered to send me now books, free of charge. But I have to pay the $50 postage. So bad.”
“We bought 3 books paid over $55 per book and we only received 2 books. I tried for over a week to get an answer back from Wonderby Books with no response. I was going to order 8 more books for Christmas but now I will need to look elsewhere for gifts. The books we ordered were Birthday gifts 1 child did not get his. Happy birthday to him.”
“Hi, the book I ordered from them arrived as a Father's Day gift. It arrived with pages glued together, which could not be opened without damaging the book. I've emailed them twice and contacted them on your Instagram and Facebook to resolve this issue and have not heard back from you through any medium. The book was almost AUD $80 and is unusable. It's one thing that the book is damaged, it's another that customer service has not responded to any of my contacts.”
“I accidentally placed a duplicate order because their website crashed. I realized this within the two hour window for making changes to the order and requested that one order be cancelled, providing both relevant order numbers. Their website specifically says that duplicate orders can be cancelled if the request is made before the order had shipped, but apparently my request needed to be escalated and they stopped responding to my emails until they had shipped both orders. Absolutely dodgy practice, I won't be using this service again.”
“I see I'm not the only one with shipping issues. They delivered my last order to a post office some 40kms away from me in the middle of the CBD. What's worse they didn't inform me that it had arrived early. It had been sitting there for about three weeks, and I wasn't informed. I contacted them the day after it was due to arrive, and they were of no help. So I sat on hold with the post office for half an hour while they located the books.
If I didn't follow up the post office would have sent it all the way back in 6 days.
Used to be beautiful books. Now they come plastered with Wonderbly ads.”
“I ordered a gift for Mother's day and selected the "Speedy" shipping option. The expected delivery date was the Friday before Mother's Day. The gift arrived on the Tuesday AFTER Mother's Day. When I initially contacted them about the estimated arrival date being after Mother's Day, their response was to wait and see and they usually come through... I was very disapointed with their response.”
“Had an issue with their website. When I tried to contact them I got an error message saying “Well this is embarrassing, something went wrong. Please try again or contact us for help.” I sent 3 emails trying to get help. Instead, they double shipped my order and will not refund my money.”
