"Ecco garbage shoes. Went for a trip in Japan for 7 days with $200 leather ecco shoes. Came back home and the sole on the bottom was a quarter falling out. Very disappointed. Do not ever waste your money on some trash shoes like ecco. Top may look good, but bottom will disintegrate in a very short time."

"I was given a brand new pair of ECCO shoes. They had been in storage but never worn. I walked no more than 25 metres in them and the soles completely disintegrated. I find it unbelievable."

"ECCO's used to be my \"go to\" shoes before they became popular. The last two pairs haven't had the same comfort and feel. I was willing to accept that I may have chosen poorly for my fit. Yesterday, I took out a pair I don't wear often to attend a formal event. The edge around the upper leather had come completely undone. The fact that it was on both shoes tells me it's a quality issue."

“yesterday i bought chunky yellow sandal from a store in istanbul (ozdelik mall) today i just used damp napkin to remove dirt , collor ruined as if it was water color !! some spot became yellow , some parts became green !!! you can see this in photos that I uploaded.. (also I paid 1749 TL (117 USD) for this and they denied to give me tax free form , so I coudnt even get tax refund in istanbul airport)”

“The soles of the Ecco shoes turn gummy over time even when not worn. The soles then rip apart. never buy these shoes unless you plan to wear them every day until they wear out. There is no reason for these soles to turn gummy and rip apart. They were stored on a closet shelf and the temperature in the closet was not hot.”

“Ecco shoes are garbage! When you first buy them they are great. If you leave them on a shelf in your closet for a year or tow, the soles become gummy and fall apart. It is not hot in my closet. The shoes are on a shelf. The Ecco soles just fall apart and disintegrate. It's so embarrassing to be at a function and have your shoe fall apart. This has happened to me twice before. never again will I buy an Ecco products. See the photo below.”

“Terrible quality shoes and a total lack of response from customer service. Bought a pair from the Lisbon store and they came apart after one week (see photos). Store did not respond to a single email or phone call. Head office said it's not their problem, and contact the store. Shocking.”

“Very pathetic quality without warranty for wear & tear. The shoes of worth 20k got torn in 4 months and ECCO isn't bothered to repair it under warranty. Firstly if you are making such expensive shoes, the basic requirement is good quality. And if you can't offer good quality, better consider the wear & tear under warranty for approximately 12 months.”

“Before my one month travel I went to ecco store and got a plain white slide in shoes what a tank shoes! I walked with it all day everyday. I used it on (ALL IN) mode since day one outa the box XD I walked in parks, mud, rain, stoney roads all over Netherlands. If you look for something Elegant/Easy to clean/Timeless & Super comfy use your money on ecco!”

“It is sad to see what has happened to ECCO Shoes. The quality is non existent. The customer service is even worse as I have had ZERO response from them. I am recovering from cancer and walking is essential to my health. I have a pair ecco track 25 that literally had the sidewalls fail. It is nothing more than a thin wall of foam rubber. The tops and soles look brand new but the sides have completely come apart. NO response from ECCO! Never again will I buy or recommend like I have many times in the past!”

“Ecco offered a 20 percent reduction on my next pair of shoes. I will never buy another pair of Ecco shoes again. The sole if these sandals literally disintegrated this weekend. The shoes have had little wear. On checking online it appears that they have had this problem for years all over the world but have not taken steps the fix it.”

“I hadn't worn my shoes for over a year (courtesy of COVID) and then when I put them and began walking the soles began to break apart and created a huge sticky black mess. So I took photos of the shoes and threw the shoes out. When I called the company to arrange a replacement, they were well aware of the problem (they called it hydrolysis, almost proudly), but were unwilling to make any concessions towards a replacement or discount for the purchase of a new shoe with the photos alone. They insisted on receiving the shoes. This is by far the worst customer service that I have encountered ever.”

“I latterly walked out of my shoes with my Ecco Timberland shoes. I turned around and the sole of my shoes was all over the floor in some tar like mess. I will never buy another pair of Ecco shoes and will tell everyone I know buyer beware. The problem is Ecco will not do anything for its poor quality.”

“I bought a pair of sandals... 10 days later the Velcro started to come off. I bought them from a store while traveling and they don’t have that store in my state. I Contacted customer service and they told me that if I didn’t take them back to where I purchased them and they were not purchased from their website there was nothing they could do. I paid $146. For these shoes!!! I will never purchase from them again. I recommend Taos shoes this company stands behind Their products and is very easy to work with. Avoid this company”

“Have bought 3 pairs of ECCO shoes over the years. Love the styling but the material used for the soles is CLEARLY defective. After 2-3 years the soles on every pair have disintegrated, literally coming apart in chunks. I have never experienced that in any other brand. I googled it and it is a common problem with ECCO shoes which is ridiculous, especially considering these are not cheap shoes. See photos of my last and final pair of ECCOs. Notice the upper leather in perfect condition. Rarely worn. But the soles falling apart! This happened to EVERY pair.”

“I heard these shoes were great so I was excited to order a pair. They didn't fit. It was my mistake for not checking the return policy before ordering. They say you can return shoes for free in a store. None of the certified Ecco sellers in Utah do returns. So my only option was to pay for shipping to return the shoes. $25 shipping was the cheapest option. Probably never buying these shoes again.”

“The first time I complained about the soles of my unused walking shoes disintegrating in the shoe cupboard, the shop assistant (in Street) told me that I had no cause to complain. I find Ecco shoes extremely comfortable, but invariably I end up throwing them away before I have worn them much. Today my wife noticed the heel on my Ecco sandal has disintegrated.....”
