“The Custom Rod building kit that supplements holding the fly rod while wrapping the guides did not work AT ALL. The threads on the "spool holder" never came close to to tightening and subsequently did not achieve the purpose it was designed for. I resorted to the "Book Method" for tension and it worked great!! save yourself some $$$ and don't order this product.”
“TWO MONTHS AND NO DELIVERY OF MY ORDER. I purchased the MHX Turnkey Fly Rod Building Kit as a gift for my son in march 2021. Two weeks passed and no order. I checked the order status online and it showed “Pending Fulfillment”. I sent Mudhole a note online and they responded that my order was back ordered. Why they could not tell me that earlier I do not understand. I waited a few more weeks and no delivery. I sent another note on April 14 and they responded they were waiting on one part that should be on by the end of the month (April). April 30 came and no further contact. I called the company and they told me they were reengineering their kits to replace the motors that had a tendency to fail and it would be two more weeks. This is a good answer, but why could they not tell me this earlier or put it on their website so I could decide not to order. I asked if they had any plans to DISCOUNT my order or provide any other INCENTIVE for me to continue to WAIT and they said NO. As this was a gift and something my son really wanted, I had no option but to wait. I was told the order would be ready in a few weeks. IT IS NOW TWO WHOLE MONTHS AND NO ORDER AND NO CONTACT FROM THE COMPANY EXCEPT WHEN I CONTACT THEM. Their CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. I recommend FINDING ANOTHER VENDOR for your rod building needs. I ordered from them before and that order was delayed also and I live only 4 hours from their offices. It is the END OF MAY 2021 I am still WAITING FOR MY ORDER. I guess they figure my $229 is just a gift. They seem quite happy to have my money in their BANK ACCOUNT making interest instead of it being in my account. DID I MENTION THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS?”
