Took my car for m.o.t. to NATIONAL TYRES AND AUTOCARE Having failed my m.o.t I got a quote for repairs - the cost for parts was £202-55. They are now owned by HALFORDS, and my mot says Halfords Autocentres. I checked Halfords on line price and it was £69-97. I also checked Europarts (whom I am led to believe they get their parts from) Europarts price was £109-98. I pointed this out to them, but wasn,t offered amended price. I didn,t feel the part they failed was bad, so went to another garage for mot and it was passed. I won't be going anywhere near National Tyres or Halfords any more, and will be making my friends etc. aware of my experience. I informed Halfords Autocentres on-line, but am afraid they didn,t/couldn,t explain why this was,in fact, they evaded the question entirely, this was the answer I got :- Please provide a screenshot or copy of the competitor quotation, please also stick to the price match guidelines or we cannot assist you further.

tried to get through on the phone waited half hour before being told they dont do mobile fit in my area ,I have used this company many times in the past and was always pleased with them .since being taken over by Halfords it has gone down hill would never use them again dreadful webb site un workable

Just returned from national tyres washington got in early to fit new tyres the staff here are the best I have ever come across no problem whatsoever very pleasant and very helpful my place in the future

Ashton-u-Lynne 4 tyres booked for 12 noon Saturday 7/1/23 arrived to be told leave keys be ready about 4.30/5 , attitude awful, told they where still doing yesterdays work , however 4 guys sat in office on there phones, time 11.35 so not the lunch break,sorry customers vote with there feet , plus you get what you pay for.

Terrible terrible service. In short they screwed up my order. I requested a refund. Heard absolutely nothing. Called customer services - got cut off and went straight to their survey that they are so intent on your taking at the end of the call, so I wasn't helped. Called again eventually got through to someone and was confirmed that my refund had been processed a few minutes again by the person I spoke to first. If I hadn't called in I would be waiting for a refund that was never going to arrive back onto my credit card. Check your refunds!

I booked in a time slot for 1 o’clock to have 2 tyres and tracking done. I turned up about 10 minutes early and car was still sitting there 1 and a half hours later. I can’t see the point of having time slots if you have to wait this long. I moaned to one of the blokes there and he said they were busy but all I could see was the blokes just standing there messing about with loud music blasting or they were outside smoking using there mobile phones. An old gentleman I was talking to in the waiting room said he was booked in at 2 o’clock and his car was finished within an hour. Not once did anyone have the decency to apologise for the wait. I would never use this branch again it’s a shame I can’t give zero feedback if so I would. This made me late going back to work. I think the time slots need to be reviewed and removed if this is what happens.

Had my appointment for 10am, came on time and the guy asked me to wait around 40/45 minutes. After one hour and a half my car was still in the car park, no one touched it yet. Awful service, very unsatisfied considering I booked trought Halford and I paid in advance and my appointment has been moved twice.

Rang up in morning and booked car in for suspension check at 4:30 pm. When I turned up they had no recollection of my booking and were too busy. There is no excuse for poor service like this.

Dear Team, I purchased premium tyres this time last year. The tyres look worn out and it's only done less then 20,000 miles. I will be coming to the purley store to speak to someone as I am not happy with the cost of the premium tyres that have not lasted me very long.  Please see my receipt of the purchase attached. HI, I HAVE ORDERED MY TYRE ONLINE MORE THAN 3 WEEKS AGO AND IT WAS DELIVERED TO NATIONAL TYRE FOR FITTINGS. I HAVE BEEN THERE THREE TIMES AND I BEEN CONTINOUSLY BEEN IGNORED AND LET DOWN BY YOU NATIONAL TYRES GIVING ME LAME EXCUSES MY TYRES NOT ARRIVED.. TODAY I BEEN THERE AGAIN COZ THEIR MANAGER CALLED ME 3 DAYS AGO AND ASKED ME TO COME FOR TYRE FITTING. WHEN I WENT THERE AT 10AM THE GUY AT COUNTER CALLED JOSH SAID TO ME THEY ARE SHORT OF STAFF AND ASKED ME TO COME AFTER ONE HOUR.I WENT THERE AT 11AM THEY TOOK OFF MY TYRES FROM CAR AND THEN AFTER 10 MINUTES JOSH CAME TO ME AND SAID WE DONT HAVE TYRES SO HE PUT THE OLD TYRE BACK ON MY CAR AND SAID HE WILL GET DELIVERY BY 3PM TODAY. I WENT THERE AT 3PM AND HE LOOKED AROUND FOR TYRES AGAIN AND SAID WE DONT HAVE YOUR TYRES AND HE WAS SO RUDE TO ME AS WELL INFRONT OF OTHERE CUSTOMERS.. I EXPLAINED HIM EVERYTHING HOW YOU BEEN TREATING ME SINCE 3 WEEKS.. THEN WITHOUT MY CONSENT HE CANCELLED MY ORDER AND ISSUED ME REFUND. WHE. Average prices but dreadful fitting, broken TPS sensor that was ignored and hidden causing a day to sort. Poor balancing (needed to be re done at my expense) Customer service is a joke and do not care. Maybe some good mobile fitters out there but not the one that put x4 tyres on my car. AVOID

Trying to get hold of someone is very difficult. If you go back to the tyre garage and ask for a email they don't know. I had appointment booked. Rang me to say running behind which I already left to drive to the garage. Started tyres an hour after booking time. Then damage a sensor valve which they said they didn't do. wasn't sure which one as there was nothing wrong with them before I went in. It was a year ago only just trying to sort it now as family health issue and this on top didn't help. Shame the people who use to run that garage we're brilliant. I've twice been to national tyres this year and I should have been put off the first time however wrote it off as minor. This time the scale of the incompetence and attitude is just not worth the hassle of ever going back. Phone call made to ask if they could sort tyre with a nail in it. Told to come in within the next 30 mins (I was there in 10) to be told to come back in an hour and a half so had to go home. Went back and an hour later told it can't be fixed. So they put the spare on and I gave details (name, address, phone number, email) and ordered two tyres as another one is close to the limit. Went out to my car and the wheel arch is scraped so deep there is no way it can be rubbed out. Went home and doubted the tyres were ordered at all because the guy at the desk was just not interested and talked over me the whole time to other staff. I discovered my alloy wasn't put back in my car but surely they would just keep it as the tyres would be in soon. A week later I called them to find out what was happening some random story about not being able to contact me. I can understand that with only giving my name number email and address how difficult I'd be to track down (apparently every one of them was taken down wrong). So new tyre gets put on and yep only one had been ordered. They then asked me where the plastic bit was to put the spare wheel back on. I said I didn't know and hadn't seen anything as nothing was put back in the car. He actually made it my fault they couldn't put the spare wheel back on adding "well what do you want me to do with it". I could think of a few things pal. Now I'm stuck with a tyre on the back seats (can't use the boot). No way I would ever go back.

Ordered 4 premium tyres at £600 and fitted on their next available date. They reduced their selling price on the next day for £510. I wrote to ask if they could look into my order and make the deal fair, no reply at all but charged on my card for the original sum not even a single word of reply after my 2nd email. I can’t believe that a company backed by Halfords the customer services could be that indecent. Similarly, Apple offers price guarantee to return the difference within a month if their product is on sale in within. BTW, the fitting is also below par, staff were nice and their services were punctual and promising. However, it seems that they did not put sufficient lubricant on the edge of my rims when fitting, edges are scratched a bit, they also used a metal pry bar to remove the original deadweights from inside of the trim causing deep scratch marks nearby. All in all, my experience with National Tyre is unpleasant this time, disappointed to be honest. Won’t recommend or shortlist this company for my other cars.

Had 2 tyres fitted at Dunstable branch scratched both wheels still waiting for them to sort , customer service is a joke because no answer phone or gets back to your emails ,never again will I use this disrespectful company.

Had 2 new tyres fitted When i got home I washed my car and then noticed one of my diamond cut alloys was damaged which was not there that morning prior to having my tyres changed. I will never ever go back to national tyres.and will not ever recommend them.

My partner turned up to Selby branch, at 4pm, with a screw in the tyre and told them she needed a fix to get home, as she was an hour's motorway journey away with a 6 month old in the car. Staff turned her away because they were too busy to do a 15 minute repair.
