“This Universal Swytch eBike Kit is absolutely fabulous, just fitted to my Jorvik Folding Tricycle (24” wheels) - yes a long wait to receive it due to both COVID and Brexit (both beyond anyone’s control), but excellent aftercare assistance when I found I had not ordered enough throttle cable due to the nature of my Dutch style handlebars (received 2 more extension cables in 3 working days) - I just look forwards now to a few nice days to test out the range of the battery (but I already have experienced the sheer joy of not struggling up any more of our local hills). My husband also found a to be an easy fit, just centralising the Cadence Sensor needs a bit of patience.”

“After much research I ordered two Swytch kits (pro) for our two Bromptons. I ordered in March 2020 and the kits duly arrived in December 2020. Nine months, but to be fair COVID was right in the middle, which nocks three months off, and probably another month for getting back into operation again. All in all I was very happy with the time frame. Being Brompton specific, the kits fitted very easily, even coming with Brompton specific PAS sensors, giving ample choice of which sensor fitted best. The fitting guides and videos were a great help. The hardest part for me was fitting the handlebar mount, as on Bromptons the cockpit is rather cramped, but it did finally fit. If you own a Brompton with sport (straight) handlebars, there will be no problem whatsoever. I had an initial problem with some defective parts, but after a couple of emails and a zoom meeting with an engineer, the replacement parts were duly dispatched and arrived quickly. I found customer support to be good, all communication is by email. Not being able to phone is unusual, but thinking about it, it makes sense as everyone has copies of what was said and it allows Swytch’s representatives to operate efficiently. Warranty registration is straight forward and online. The kits work really well, and are much more powerful than I imagined they would be. Simple to operate and do not seem to affect the handling of the bikes. There is on option for a Brompton mount that utilises the Brompton luggage mount, thus removing any weight from the handlebars. However for us this was not an option as we have Brompton bags that cannot be used if the mount is used for the battery. Overall we are very happy with the kits, they blend well into the bike and most importantly, the bikes can be used as normal if the battery goes flat. The biggest difference for myself is that my wife has changed from being a “I want to cycle somewhere flat” or “not that way, there’s a hill” to a “ooh look, there’s another hill, lets try that one!”, cyclist. Priceless!”

“Having a Swytch kit on my bike now means that I can arrive at work fresh and non stressed. It’s like having a friendly hand pushing you up the hills so there’s no need to break a sweat. I love that I can still pedal independently if I want some exercise though.”

“My Swytch kit is one of the best products I have bought in ages. I was not sure what to expect, so my expectations were pretty low. After I got it set up I was blown away. I had a decent Giant E-bike pre-2010 and I was pretty underwhelmed. It had a 250 watt motor on it. So I thought the Swytch kit might be underpowered. Not-at-all. The new sine wave controller makes it super buttery smooth and silent. Power is fantastic. (I wish the top end speed was a hair more - that is my only complaint). The battery pack mounting system is beautifully designed. Swytch crushed it on providing both form and function. What put me off with most other add-on kits is that they just look dumb. Swytch actually added cool-factor to my bike. It just enhances the capabilities of my bike, while maintaining the feel of a regular bike (unlike some of the other monsterous ebikes out there). Needless to say it has my vote!”

“I would like to share my experience which has been really good despite delays. I ordered a kit in May expecting delivery in July/August. The order process was easy. I had researched the crowd funding model so was going into it with my eyes open. The biggest fear was not hearing anything after I had paid my money. But the communication at each step of the way was enough to keep me reassured. The tracking on the container ship was brilliant. So I got my kit at the start of December so why am I not more annoyed or disappointed? Well we are in a pandemic and manufacturing in China was hit like any other sector. (As an aside I’ve ordered another bike form a local bike shop and if you know anything about the current situation with bikes you know they are really difficult to get hold of. I’m looking at a 4 month wait from Germany. ) Installation was fairly easy. I had an issue with the PAS but the step by step instructions were great. I had no other issues and despite not uploading the warranty photos right, I got a nice email from their warranty team saying to email them the missing photos. Swytch did say taxes would be due and they did say that the 3 months is their manufacture time. And that’s from all the orders closing. Shipping takes longer. So I should not have been surprised. Some who ordered in October got their kits a few weeks after me but that’s the way it goes. I’ve just got off a chat with someone about getting an extra power pack and the service has been great. Yes I am surprised they have not had investment to run like a normal business and still operate a crowdfunding model but the quality for the price you pay is something I have not seen elsewhere. If you do your research you should not be surprised.”

“I ordered a Swytch Bike conversion kit (non throttle) for my wife who has MS. She can ride but wanted to be able go for longer, easier rides. The kit was ordered in August 2020 and arrived late January 2021. Swytch regularly sent me shipping updates and had quickly answered a couple technical questions I had. Setup was relatively easy. The only issue I ran into was that the diameter of the axle bolt of the Swytch wheel hub was slightly larger than the dropouts of my wife's forks. Solution was simple with a flat metal file. I filed about 50 strokes on each drop out; testing as I went until I had it just right. I had assembled my wife's kit late at night so had to wait until the following morning to take it for a test. I wanted to make sure the bike and kit was mechanically sound before my wife rode it. I jumped on not knowing exactly what to expect and quickly realized what a gem the Swytch kit is. I pedalled past my neighbor's house and quickly felt the assistance the kit provided and turned around immediately to get my wife. She started her ride with me tagging along on my regular bike. She giggled with delight all the way around the block...3x. Success! So we decided to go on a longer ride to better get a feel of the kit's performance. We headed to one of our favorite 8mile paved trails. She loved every minute of it. Heading out we had a steady tail wind so I tempered our expectations knowing we'd be facing a stiff 13mph headwind on our way with a mild incline that she struggled to climb previously. No only did she not struggle, I couldn't keep up with her as she steadily disappeared ahead of me. A much more cycle fit rider (you know the type) past me but also struggled to keep pace in the windy conditions. Astonishing. She is so happy with the kit we have already made plans for more excursions this weekend and I may order one for myself :) THANK YOU SWYTCH!!”

“Best quality conversion kit I've bought. I am a serial eBike converter and typically use eBay/Amazon kits which are good value but quite a lot of hassle to source and install. In contrast Swytch have really thought of everything, down to the most minute details, and all those small bits of engineering do all come together to make it as simple to install as they claim... I was very impressed with how easy they have made it and I was already riding around on my latest Giant eBike conversion in the time it usually took to install just one bit of a cheaper kit.”

“Excellent product. I fitted this to a 1970s Puch touring bike and it was very easy, and works fantastically. Please be aware that when you pre order, it will be at least 12 weeks before your kit is made, then shipped by sea from China (so its about 4 months in total). Throughout this time Swytch keep you informed, and you can track your package in its tanker across the seas. The kit is well worth the extra time it takes to come. I've had other electric bikes and this kit is small but really powerful.”

“Hi. I have a MTB with rapid-fire + gear/brake levers, I also bought the the thumb throttle to add to my handle bars. Unfortunately the thumb throttle cable arm got in the way of my levers, see photo1&2. So I contacted customers services and they exchanged this for a grip-shift throttle, see photo3. Now it works a treat, thank you Swytch. My wife liked it so much that see has one as well, photo4.”

“It took a while coming due to local lockdowns and results of delays with regards to Brexit but it was worth the wait. The kit arrived really well packed, first impressions were good (I am fussy!) packaging was great, included info and links to web help was also great. The installation was very quick and easy on my Specialized Crosstrail Hybrid. The tyre went on without issues and the wheel installed without having to modify anything or file the forks. After some trial and error I got the PAS fitted, I opted to use the one that has an attachment to fit on to the pedal arm, this was held solidly by some zip ties which were in the kit. My PAS sensor would not fit, after researching on the internet and on the Swytch site I decided to take the mount off and cut the bracket which allowed a perfect fit using the double-sided pad included. I also used two small zip ties for increased security. On to the handlebar mount, the first hurdle - with the inserts, it would not fit, and without it was to slack. I managed to cobble it with some spacers I had printed as a stop-gap, a quick email to Swytch and some smaller ones were sent very quickly. The next job was to tidy up the cables using zip ties and then attach the battery pack for a test. Before I did this I noticed the stitching on the contact cover/hood had come apart, this is not an issue but I was concerned that the contacts were not protected when not in use, again a quick email to Swytch and they are looking into a replacement. The first test was a quick ride around the block, everything went really well, the whole system is very quiet. Just come back from a longer test. I had a full charge and cycled 21.1 km power setting was mostly set to 1 with occasional bosts to 5 for the hills including one very steep one. It's great as it makes you feel like you have still had some exercise and a bot of assistance on hills mean my knees aren't causing issues. I am a real pedal-assist convert. I would recommend it to anybody and to be honest, I am thinking of converting my other bike. Yes there were teething problems but Sytch sorted them quickly ( and to be fair they were only minor ones)”

“I bought this kit in June 2020 and it was delivered in February 2021. I expected a long wait as this is a crowdfunded product. Fitment was really easy and has brought new life to my 23 year old Kona! I can now keep up with my wife on her e-bile. The kit is pretty stealthy and doesn't detract massively from the look of your bike.”
