“Phenomenal - to anyone who feels the call to journey down this path, from my own experience, I sincerely recommend you choose APL. This was my first Ayahuasca experience, so finding the right healing practitioners, guides and location was very important. I chose APL because they honour the traditions of plant medicine, and provide a safe space for healing - what I received went above and beyond this and I feel incredibly blessed to have taken my journey with them. During the retreat, I witnessed their work, but honestly, it was more of an act of service. I can not put into words the care and compassion given to all those who choose to take part. I always felt safe throughout the whole process and my time there. My journey was profound and life-changing simply because of the natural power of plant medicine and the wonderful human beings behind APL. “Hello. My name is Angela, and I am 47 and a mother of two teenagers. I have a professional career, and unlike the former version of myself, I write this review to help inform individuals such as yourself - you who are reading this and researching. I just completed a carefully supported 8-day Ayahuasca retreat with APL Shamanic Journeys in Spain. My life will never be the same and I am forever grateful. Today, I have a genuine abundance of joy ….and love for life. I owe this plant medicine from the Amazon jungle, the professional and caring APL Journey team, and the incredible Shaman healer, Alberto, my life. After a decade of debilitating health issues from lifelong stress, pain, trauma, grief, sadness, loss, holistic therapies, yoga and meditation, and traditional therapies and medications to treat my auto-immune disease, Ankylosing Spondalytis, Uveitis, and other health and inflammatory issues, I came to a rock bottom crossroads. I am the classic picture of looking healthy and put together on the outside, while broken, sick and wounded on the inside. After researching psychedelics as a healing alternative (I turned into a bonafide investigator reading everything), I decided to try to heal through Ayahausca, and APL Journey carried the best (and most) 5-star reviews. Nothing prepared me for the profound physical, mental and spiritual healing experience, for my Ayahausca journey was often a treacherous path to walk. Under the professional, safe, loving, and supportive guidance of expert facilitators, Boris and Sasha; true Amazonian Shaman healer, Alberto; experienced integrative psychedelics counselor and therapist, Amanda; and the wisdom from trauma and psychedelics specialist and psychotherapist, Ross; I was able to and radically unfold, heal and transform. Ayahuasca is a medicine that deserves respect for it is a spiritial and whole body alignment and unravelling of all things, patterns, toxins that need to be removed in order to begin whole again. It is anything but easy, and I am a different person than I was 10 days ago. With the deepest respect and gratitide, I whole-heartedly recommend APL Journey to anyone at a crossroads or rock-bottom, and looking for a new chance at life through Ayahuasca medicine, and looking for professionalism and safety. If you are seeking plant medicine or any kind of psychedelic treatment for healing, you also carry a great deal of self responsibility with your diet, full disclosure and eliminations of drugs, alcohol, and many other medicines. “This was my second retreat with APL and again I had a wonderful experience with them. I was happy to see Anael, Boris, Sascha and Amanda again as I already trusted them. You can feel that they deeply care about this work and show great integrity and love. I could transform very old wounds in a short amount of time and could expand my capacity for love and abundance in a way that I didn't think was possible. I think Ayahuasca is really unique in the depth and embodiment it can reach in a short time. Thank you to the team, also Yumbato and Obi from the bottom of my heart and hope to see you all again ❤️ Everyone who thinks about doing a retreat with APL - I can't recommend them enough.”

“The best retreat I’ve been to. It’s a great balance between scientific and spiritual. It respects the plant medicine by honoring its history, educating people about shamanism and native practices, and bringing in shamans who come from generations of practitioners. Great care is taken into preparing participants for each stage, and taking the uncertainty and anxiety out of the equation. Things such as yoga, massages, sound baths allow leading up to ceremonies are excellent tools also. As the ceremonies are a community exercise, great care is given to allowing for harmony and connections to evolve within the group. The organizers and staff are very well informed in the areas of trauma, ptsd and latest literature on healing as an evolving field. Sharing and processing circles after each ceremony reflect that awareness, and the availability of individual sessions are a great way to assist participants in working through themes that come up for them. I highly recommend this retreat. If I were to dream up an ideal approach to dealing with and healing from…this was even better.”

“I had the privilege to attend an Ayahuasca retreat with APL in march 2023,this was one of the most challenging, painful, insightful, beautiful and life changing experiences of my life, going on this retreat was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.The whole week was truly well planned and organized, it's easy to see how much thought and work has gone in to planning these events.Everyone at APL had their own super power and used it to help us on our journey.Taking ayahuasca can be a very scary thing but the whole team at APL worked so hard to make us feel safe,supported and created a loving environment for us.I feel so much gratitude for Boris, Sasha, Asha, our shaman Pepe, Ubi,Mick and Danielle they all did their part so my experience could be what I needed it to be..I only have positive things to say about APL and give them my warmest recommendations.”

“My Ayahuasca journey has been undoubtedly the most unique experience in my life and I can't imagine a better team than APL for this journey. It was a true privilege to be a part of a community so balanced and full of love with only one intention; the intention to heal our body, mind and soul. Everything was planned and done with such great love and care, which left me speechless at the end of the retreat. It was a challenging journey for sure, but everyone at APL have helped me to overcome all my fears and made me feel safe at all times. “Incredible. Such a life changing, mind expanding experience with APL and Ayahuasca. The retreat in Spain wonderfully hosted by Boris, Sasha and Amanda far exceeded my expectations. I felt safe, comfortable and looked after at all times. Ceremonies with Pepe, the shaman were so powerful and insightful along with the group sharing circles the next day. The food prepared by the friendly team in the kitchen was always top notch. Peacefully set in the hills it was never hard to relax while processing last nights ceremony or preparing for the next one. Initially curiosity was my intention for trying ayahuasca but I received so much more than I could have imagined. Huge thanks the whole team at APL! I hope to see you all again soon x 10/10”

“I lived a large part of my life, with a lot of fear and a lot of sadness inside me... without realizing the reason and for no reason. This feeling did not let me realize and enjoy many wonderful situations that life has to offer us. During a wonderful week with the APL, I was able to solve what was preventing me from living in a freer, more joyful and deeper way. At this moment I can enjoy every moment with the people I love the most, to appreciate such simple situations and live in a lighter and more joyful way. “Highly professional and super-friendly staff, well-structured days, great ceremonies with a wonderful curandero from Peru all around a caring and warm atmosphere at a spacious Andalusian finca .. . I could, in Europe, not think of a better place to go ! The only difficulty I personally had, was the fact, that the last ceremony took place just the night before leaving next day, late noon. Too fast for me. Yet still: Highly recommended !!!”

“My experience with APL Journeys and the facilitators was nothing short of amazing. I felt safe and held during the entire experience and I felt everyone was professional and efficient beyond anything I could have asked for. And there was so much more than just the Aya ceremonies; yoga, sound baths, nutritious food and availability for 1-2-1 chats with the integration therapists and the Shaman. Honestly the most well-run, well-planned and competent retreat I have ever been lucky enough to be apart of. Highly recommend.”

“This is my second time with APL and 15 seat with the medicine, to my surprise they just got better! This is by far the most professional place to do Aya in Europe. They work with traditional shipibo curanderos and highly experienced facilitators. They care and do they work with love. Can’t recommend them enough ❤️”

“I had the call to sit with Ayahuasca 2 years ago and spent a huge amount of time researching and doing my own due diligence on different retreats and APL kept on coming up. Having just returned from a week long retreat, I have to say that these guys are exceptional examples of how to host plant medicine in a responsible, ethical and professional way. Our shaman was incredibly powerful, the facilitators were fantastic, even the food was great. Fell in love with my group and the entire team and can’t recommend APL highly enough. I’ll be back!”

“Would award 10 if I could. I had a beautiful, life-changing journey. I had a close connection with the medicine but beyond that, the way that the team held and facilitated the space was amazing. The level of trust and love I felt from the team and the Maestro Tony was outstanding. Would have been impossible to have the same experience without that. The house and grounds are beautiful, and add to the calm. And finally it was a beautiful experience to bond with the other retreat participants, sharing and offering love and support as our journey grew and evolved. One word of personal advice however. This is just my personal opinion so take it as you like, but it was invaluable to me. I believe it's really important to take the buildup and the pre-retreat diet seriously, just as seriously as the retreat itself. This will help you feel connected and ensure you are best ready to receive the healing you need. Before you book, take a good look at the list of dietary and lifestyle requirements expected in the buildup and during retreat. None of us are perfect but if you know that you will commit to doing your best and are confident that you will follow the requirements closely, then please go ahead - this will be the right place for you. If you are not sure and think you will miss certain items and struggle to remove them from your diet/life - then perhaps save your money for now, and come back another time when you feel your commitment to the whole process will be stronger. “This was the second retreat I've done with APL Journeys in Spain, and it was just as phenomenal as the first one.
