I love being able to explore new topics at my own pace. I've signed up for two courses so far and am enjoying both of them. There seems to be quite a wide range of topics but I would prefer to be able to listen, rather than watch. I don't know if there's an audio-only possibility but this could be very useful. A word of warning, from bitter experience: if you want to listen on the go, download the course first. I just used up my whole month's mobile data allowance listening to a course while walking my dog!

I only joined BBC Maestro a short while ago, but I do not have words enough to say how much the course I am following , the one on poetry with Carol Ann Duffy has added to my life. It is a whole new dimension, making me re-look at so much in my life. Please thank her for me. Is there an email I can use to send a letter of thanks to her? I am very elderly, so to start this course at my age is a real gift. Thank you for providing these courses. With my thanks and best wishes, Jill

As a writer, I initially joined BBC Maestro to do the courses on offer by Isabele Allende and Jojo Moyes. But, I must say, there is so many courses available in every category, that it will keep me well entertained in more than just writing! But, having just joined, I am already loving the writing course by Isabel Allende on Magical Storytelling. She is an incredible teacher and the pace and tone of her course is really helping me with my novel. The content throughout is beautifully shot, the videos and sound are clean and crisp and the settings of each one make you feel like you are with them in their home. Highly Recommend!

Isabelle Allende's lessons were inspiring, informative, and real. Her style of communicating and encouraging was kind and relaxed. Her words were thoughtful and inspiring.

Am part way through Jancis Robinson’s wine course. It‘s so good, we have to stop ourselves from bingeing it. Each talk is short and to the point. Robinson is a superb communicator of her knowledge and strikes precisely the right tone – straighforward and not patronising. There is no waffle or filling and every word counts. We have already learned a lot and there’s still a way to go. Was delighting to see there are course notes too.

I loved the programme. It was not only informative, it was beautiful to watch. I learned great tip in flower arranging and could not wait to get to a fleuriste to get some flowers and do my own. Simon gave great tips. He certainly had the most gorgeous blooms to work with. One does not need to buy lots of flowers or spend lots of money to create little jewels in a vase. They just make our daily lives so much enjoyable.

Steven barlets course is short and precise , i can relate to him on so many ways based on our shared life experieces . He explains it as if he is only talking to one person which is me. He has personality adn it doesnt feel llike school, it feels like learning.

Ever had those holes in your sheet of knowing things? Ever wished "if only you could get to speak with the person in that field of knowledge"? Then one day you magically have the answers to both?! That, my friend, is BBC Maestro!

I love Jojo Moyes's teaching style and the ability to listen to the lessons at my own pace and re-listen to them if I want to. There are also additional teaching sheets to complement the video lessons. I am keen to try more of these classes by other authors.
