The course I purchased contained excellent and comprehensive advice both on the creative and practical aspects of writing a book for children. It gave me the tools I needed to enhance my skills and, also, to channel them into producing material more in keeping commercial expectations.

An amazing resource that will only improve over time as the choice gets greater. Am giggling at times when I watch some of the sessions because the insight from experts is superb

I'm here because of Jack Reacher. He's a character created by Lee Child. I've read every Jack Reacher book. I love to write. And I've found that Lee and I have something in common-broadcasting. He was in TV; I'm in radio. One day I'd like to write a book. So I'm watching ng Lee Child tell me that I can and how to do it. I love the breadth of subjects BBC Maestro has and it seems to be growing. I also like that the price is reasonable.

I have recently commenced the Richard Bertinet Bread course . It is excellent . Richard's ability to impart his knowledge and passion for bread makes this highly technical subject both easy to understand and entertaining .

Working my way through the Lee Child course. It is amazing. What an inspiring man he is. Lots of good advice from someone so successful. This is the best writing course I’ve done and it’s changing the way I think about writing. I’ve also started reading his novels. Really can’t get enough of the man. Buy this course if you are interested in writing you won’t regret it.

I can't say that I was impressed by the Rankin Photography course as I wasn't. Rankin himself comes across really well but I thought that the practical aspects of the course, such as manual settings were given very little time. Then suddenly he was in a studio with an experienced model, make up artist and lighting assistants. Most photographers will only ever dream of having such facilities. The interviews with the model and the 3 other photographers were informative and interesting but I doubt that anyone will learn a great deal from it. This course tempted me into the Maestro program but I fear it will have been money wasted as Youtube provides far more practical information.

Courses taken in the BBC Maestro are excellent content with inspiring speakers, authors and creatives. I have really enjoyed Julia Donaldson's Picture Books for Children; Ken Follett and Lee Child's Best selling Fiction masterclasses. Next on my list is poetry and public speaking. Go on. Invest in quality lessons that challenge and stretch you. The learning and enjoyment is superb.
