“The plants were mostly dead on arrival. I should have known better, all plants were in polythene bags, like you buy at the supermarket but at least at the supermarket you can see if there is any growth starting. When I complained they told me they were just dormant! I gave them over 2 weeks planted in pots to wake up. Nothing. Very disappointed.”

“bulbs are good only problem i have is prices ? i have 22 acres of garden , so a handfull of bulbs does nothing for me, and i would like to see better prices for some bulbs including tulips x 1000”

“I prchased Dahlia tubers from you. I have planted them in the beds and there is no sign of shoots after 2 weeks although it has been very sunny. Is this normal? Kind regards Philip Hunter Order #UK263858”

Dear Mr Hunter, Thank you for your message and for your order. Yes, it's completely normal for dahlia tubers to take a little time to sprout – even in sunny conditions. It can often take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on soil temperature and moisture levels. Dahlias prefer warm soil (above 15°C) to really get going. We recommend keeping the soil lightly moist (not too wet), and you should start seeing shoots soon.
