“I prchased Dahlia tubers from you. I have planted them in the beds and there is no sign of shoots after 2 weeks although it has been very sunny. Is this normal? Kind regards Philip Hunter Order #UK263858”

Dear Mr Hunter, Thank you for your message and for your order. Yes, it's completely normal for dahlia tubers to take a little time to sprout – even in sunny conditions. It can often take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on soil temperature and moisture levels. Dahlias prefer warm soil (above 15°C) to really get going. We recommend keeping the soil lightly moist (not too wet), and you should start seeing shoots soon.
