About Jaques of London:

About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. Why not come along for the trip with us!

Toys look good and are nicely packaged but I had a problem with one item and have been waiting 3 days for Customer Services to advise how to return it.

Very disappointed you sell this item online and made it look like the top of the box was magnetic and when arrived it’s just wood so the magnetic shapes are not much use unless you pay out again for a magnetic board

Happy with the service not so much with the product. It is labelled as a "Luxury" Draughts set but is very much a "Budget" set. The box - despite the fancy ribbon - is made of cheap brown recycled cardboard with awkward closure tabs - one of which tore after a few openings. The board looks great but on closer inspection is a sheet of paper pasted onto the cardboard base rather than printed onto the board. The Draughts pieces are wooden but feel quite small and fiddly when handled - not chunky and firm like you would expect from a "Luxury " set. Also the varnishing and staining quality is "uneven". Finally (there's more?!) One of the pieces has a mini chunk missing so it's not perfectly round. Verdict - It's not terrible- it's an "OK" Draughts set and value - for- money, but I would have preferred to pay more for better quality all round

No problem with products but you not make it clear that prices do not include tax, dishonest. Your checkout is very poor, the delivery address for my Grandson was 200 miles from me, asked you to change it 2 minutes after confirmation, you ignored it. Will think twice about using you in the future, not happy !

Third Mahjong set we have bought but the worst by far, tiles are not all printed properly white dragons a slightly different colour white so you can see what your opponent has and box top not stuck down properly all lumpy, certainly not the standard I would expect from Jacques
