About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. I ordered two items, jingle bells and sensory blocks. My 8 month old loves them both and I’m extremely happy with them. But unfortunately the first time I opened the wooden box for the sensory blocks the side broke off, it’s a shame as my favourite part was the storage box and I chose to spend a little bit more money by shopping here because Jaques is renowned for it’s quality and longevity. My mum also purchased something that had a problem so 2 out of 3 items had a problem which is a real shame.

nice gift however the wooden beads for threads have not been sanded properly and very difficult to get through the actual threads wouldn’t be purchasing again .

I purchased the Noah’s arc for my grandson’s birthday and when he opened it, the side of the arc was not glued securely. Very disappointing. Before it was opened, I’d purchased 4 other items. I’m hoping the quality will be better.

I haven't received my order yet, i think this is probably more a reflection of the delivery company. Am chasing it but the lack of information is fustrating.

I had ordered a train I saw online but when it arrived all the instructions were in Chinese only so I have had to email the Company to ask for instructions as to how to get it moving, as batteries alone do not seem to do the job!

While the blocks are smooth for use, it is not for anyone but little children. I agree with other reviewers that the word ‘giant’ is VERY misleading. You had to scroll down to read dimensions but i didn’t after seeing word ‘giant’.

Unlike everything else I'd purchased from Jacques the Mud Kitchen was poorly constructed. Screwholes were created on the wrong side of the wood and had to be remade. One piece of wood was broken and I have to glue it back together. Once constructed the the kithcen was sturdy enough and 'fit for purpose'.

Generally OK. The purely web based order was impersonal - misleading promo codes that didn't apply to my order wereannoying. Absence of a phone number to return calls frustrating - I missed several calls to finalise delivery as I was in meetings at work and couldn't pick up - nor could I call back when it suited me so this delayed delivery. I was also told I could arrange delivery with neighbour via Parcelforce - however this option was not available prior to their delivery attempt, or at least I could find it. Parcelforce than attempted delivery outside of their indicated time when I was out and as I was at work the following day I missed the second attempt. In the end as this was a 50th birthday present and bank holiday approaching I had to take the time off work to drive a 60 mile / 2 hour round trip to pick it up from the depot. Having paid delivery. Really bad experience.

Item was slow for dispatch then the courier delivered to the wrong address. Contacted the company and were slow to respond to my missing parcel. Then asked if I could go and pick it up. There has been no response since. No offer to resend or refund, very poor customer service, however they are very good at sending sales emails everyday.
