Ordered 6 duck eggs was shipped seven and all are viable in the incubator waiting on a hatch nay 5th. Eggs arrived in great condition and on time.

Ducks arrived very safe and healthy. I liked that the box was insulated and they had been given water even though it was gone. I would have given five stars except for mail notification needs improvement . I was expecting to receive them at home and they went to a post office an hour away without my knowledge. Also, need a better water reservoir than a stapled Dixie cup. Ducks are beautiful and what I ordered

All live orders are shipped to USPS for pick up and we are sorry that this was stressful for you. In the future, you can actually ship to a specific post office and we can mark it to hold for you! I absolutely love my ducks. Arrived very fast. All of them are great now. My chocolate runner was having some issues with her legs but since adding a supplement she’s amazing. The customer support was also fantastic.

All worked out well! Received large coup with discount! Previous supplier could not deliver. These are very nice and knowledgeable people and I will certainly be dealing with them going forward!

I would give 5 stars but I think shipping time could be improved. We would have paid a higher shipping fee if given the option for overnight delivery. Every other aspect of our experience is definitely 5 star. We are pleased with the 6 Pullets we purchased. All arrived healthy. The travel took its toll on them but after electrolytes, medicated chick starter feed, & rest they bounced back.

Thank you, Valerie, for the thoughtful comments regarding your pullets! It is always our priority to send our chickens in the fastest and safest way and currently, the USPS is the only way to go. Arriving in just 1-3 days, no other carrier offers a faster shipping method! In an effort to further safeguard the birds, we do make every effort to include heat packs when needed, extra bedding, and in some cases, fruit or veggies to help them along the way. We are very glad that your pullets recovered quickly and that you were pleased with your overall experience!

OveraIl it is a good company I did not have the best experience with live birds, they sent the wrong birds or injured ones , but they refunded me .

I’ll say the prices are high compared to what I’m used to but MyPetChicken was there when I needed them. I got beautiful, healthy chicks that arrived quick and safely. What more can you ask for. I hope they continue to do well for me. Time will tell.

I had no problems with chicks I purchased a year or two ago, and was very happy when my four new girls arrived 2 1/2 weeks ago - varieties I requested, and appeared to be in good health. Unfortunately, one of the chicks died overnight after 3 days (the buff Orpington), and another chick (Jersey Giant) appears to have a yolk-sac infection. Is doing well, and receiving oral antibiotics - keeping my fingers crossed that she continues to do well and recovers. 4/5 only due to loss of chick, which when you think about what they go through when only a day old, it is pretty amazing they do as well as they do - Heidi

While it's wonderful to hear she’s doing well with the antibiotics, we understand how difficult it can be to deal with these kinds of issues. I was apprehensive at the thought of 2 baby chicks being shipped by mail! But they arrived safely at my home on the day expected and were delightfully healthy and happy. I did notice that there was no water available to them in their shipping process so that was a worry, but they arrived in wonderful condition. I put them in the pen and they have adapted beautifully.

We completely understand your natural concern when ordering live birds to be shipped. We want to reassure you that, for their safety and comfort during the journey, our pullets are shipped with nutrition and hydration supplements rather than water. We do not see a report from you regarding your little ones as they were covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee for 48 hours after their arrival. We had some bad luck, but My Pet Chicken offered excellent customer service along the way. We originally ordered four chicks (one of the four we ordered didn't hatch as expected, so we had to swap one out the morning of shipment). When our little ones arrived, one had already died en route (blue splash marans), and one was very weak (blue silkie bantam). Despite all of our care, the weak chick died within 48 hours. My Pet Chicken worked with us to plan a reshipment order (we had to order three more instead of two, since that's the minimum). Once again on hatch day, one chick didn't hatch as expected, so we had to switch one breed out, but it was no problem in this case. Then, when our chicks arrived, we didn't get what we ordered. We received two chicks of the same breed by mistake and was refunded the price of the chick we'd tried to order but didn't get. Thankfully, they were all alive and healthy. Fast forward one month or so and one of our five chicks (lavender dream Easter egger) has since gotten very sick. She is on antibiotics and can't walk, so we have her in a sling on vet's orders. We are so hoping she pulls through. I spent so much time throughout all of this emailing and messaging with My Pet Chicken, and I found every single person who helped me along the way to be very kind and helpful. I don't hold the company responsible for most of the circustances above (except the wrong chick in our reshipment order), although sometimes I wonder if it had been easier and less emotionally taxing to buy chicks at a local feed store. However, I'm in love with our five chicks (French wheaten marans, lavender dream Easter egger, buff orpington, and two green queen bantams that look completely different—one silkied and one barred), and I know we couldn't have gotten such a unique flock from a typical feed store. I do recommend this company if you're looking for unique chicken breeds. However, just prepare yourself for possible hiccups along the way.

Thank you for a very detailed and honest review of My Pet Chicken. We're sorry about the mix up at the hatchery. Although we do our best to get all the orders correct, mistakes happen from time to time and sometimes the chicks decide to be extra athletic and hop in a different box. It doesn't happen often, but we do refund for those types of mistakes when it does. We all own a flock and understand what it means to have the perfect birds for your flock, and we hope that you'll continue to look to us for all your flock's needs.

The chickens I received are great and healthy, no issues on that front. The only problem I had with order was they told me they were not going to have enough of one color to ship, gave me a replacement no problem I agreed to it. Upon receiving I had all the chicks of the color they said was short and the other replacement color but none of the ones I was supposed to receive. But being a chicken person they are all great, so wasn’t a huge deal breaker for me. The health and quality was spot on.

Love their selection of interesting breeds of chicks -- have been ordering them for years! Always healthy and properly sexed. Their return policy on non-chick purchases could be clearer. The 20% restock fee is a little bit outrageous.

While I have purchased muliple times from this company I had some issues with the baby chicks on arrival and lost two right away. I think they faced some inforseen trauma in shipping. The care team responded right away to my emails even though some were sent after hours. They helped guide me through the experience and ultimately refunded my money for the lost chicks. They have excellent customer service and great selection of different breeds.
