Orders of 12 eggs or fewer with a 25% or lower hatch rate qualify for a full complimentary reshipment. Well the eggs were several days late by mail. Not there fault. Not one hatched. I’ve hatched eggs before and have a great incubator. They seems to start seeping some very smelly stuff somehow. That’s why only a 3 star from me.

Up until this year I would have given them a 5+. This year we had a total of 11/30 chicks pass away in the first 6 days. Customer service was great and credited us for 6 but we were very disappointed. We are a very small nonprofit farm working with children, teens and adults with disabilities. This, although a life lesson, was distressing for our participants. We have years of experience with chicks and have never had more than 1-2 die.

We ordered 20 chicks. They were all alive when we receive them the first night. They were eight dead. We have 12 remaining. I assume it’s just from the hard trip. I don’t think it’s anything that had to do with the company.

I expeirence great losses in the first 48 hours due to a rough shipment and no heat source in the box (70% loss). The staff at MPC were very helpful with assisting me during the losses with tips/guidance and with the refund process. However, I do think the shipping material in the box could use improvement: I receieved very weak chicks in a box with maybe an inch deep of bedding and no heat source... they traveled through areas which dropped to mid 30's at night. It was quite upsetting. The chicks that survived are now pullets and cockerles, all of them very pretty and sweet. They have beautiful plumage + colors and are strong social birds; they have the fluffiest muffs & tuffs too! I do recccomend MPC and the birds they produce, just very disappointed in the packaging department of the company. I ordered a few more birds for this upcoming chick season and am excited, but will be reaching out to MPC personally in regarding to packaging the chicks warm due to delivery area.

I have had a several good experiences with MPC through the last few years. After looking closer at my receipt of my lastest order of 7 chicks and the cardboard brooder panels, I realized I was charged $110.62 for shipping. $60 for the chicks, and $50.62 for the carboard panels (panels cost $19.95). When I contacted them through email about the error, they replied the shipping cost was correct. I would have not purchased the cardboard had I cought the shipping cost.

However, bulky items like brooder panels incur higher costs, and significant shipping rate increases this year have affected total shipping costs. The customer service is great . Out of 6 babies chickens only one survived 3 days shipping is to long for the babies chickens

I purchased five chicks. One arrived dead and I was promptly given a refund. Another languished and died outside the 48-hour window. Now I have three. I wanted five. I feel like part of the responsibility was USPS for the ridiculously long time it took them to get me my chicks (shipped Monday, arrived at central depot at end of day Thursday. They said they would be delivered to my post office Friday, but I could drive out to the depot to get them Thursday if I could hop in the car immediately). Still, I wanted five chicks and ended up with three.

My Pet Chicken takes every customer's review seriously as they are helpful in our continued efforts to make each order the best we are able for every flock keeper. We imagine the postal service shares in our sorrow for your heartbreaking and disappointing experience. USPS is the only company that will ship the hundreds of live chick orders every week and normally there are very few issues. However, when there are problems brought to our attention, My Pet Chicken and USPS work together to identify any issues in an effort to correct them for the safety of our babies and to bring happiness, not sorrow, to our customers.
