“We found S.W.James through a google search and were impressed by the products on the website and the promise of individual attention. We sent for some swatches and then decided to make the trip from Somerset up to the small showroom to view the sofas and do the important test, sit on them. We were warmly welcomed by Warren who spent time explaining the construction and helping us to choose the right sofa for us. We needed the help as we could have bought them all, they were so beautiful. We chose the Monty as it was a little higher being on castors. We were then shown the beautiful leather and chose the rustic. We decided to buy a footstool too which we hadn’t planned to do. Warren kept us informed during our every stage of the making of the sofa and stool. Our sofa arrived in about 14 weeks (Christmas during this time). We can only say how delighted we are with it. The leather is beautiful, the studding is gorgeous and the seats are squishy soft but supportive. It is a real classic, beautifully made, Chesterfield sofa and the real centrepiece to our lounge. Everybody comments on it and we love it. We had a small problem with one of the stool legs being cracked. I notified Warren and a new one was sent out immediately, no questions asked. I can only say, if you’re looking for a beautifully hand made chesterfield sofa from a small company, giving personal attention at every step of the way, then go to SW James, definitely. “We researched a number of suppliers of leather chesterfield furniture throughout the UK and decided on the manufacturer, S W James. This was based, in part, on the information on their website, which included extensive and detailed reviews. In addition, we initially had a long telephone discussion with Warren Kinsey, the co-founder of the company, which has a long and distinguished history in the manufacture of leather (and other fabrics) furniture. During the conversations, Warren discussed all aspects of the whole manufacturing process. as a result, we actually bought two green antique leather sofas (2-seater) and one seater. Over the time it took to make the furniture (about 8-10 weeks), Warren kept us informed (by email, text and phone) of how the furniture was progressing and what was being done. At all times, we were confident that the sofas and chair were progressing well. The furniture was delivered from Macclesfield to Edinburgh on time and fully informed of the delivery, which was also to a high standard. We are absolutely delighted with the sofas and chair, which are of the highest quality. Cannot speak too highly of the friendly, helpful expertise from start to finish.”

“I had been looking at Leather Chesterfield sofas for a while but couldn't find what I was looking for. I decided to go direct to the manufacturer and noticed SW James, I called them, I had a conversation with Warren, told him what I wanted and he sent me a brochure and various samples of beautiful Leather. I chose one design but was worried it wouldn't fit in my rather small lounge, this wasn't a problem to Warren he made the sofa on a smaller scale for me. “We had been looking for a sofa for some time, a major piece for our new home. But nothing we had looked at, in budget or even exceeding the budget, lept out, inspired or filled us with much confidence. In all honesty, it always felt a little bit of a risk for us, buying a sofa on line. The fact that we couldn't physically sit on one was initially a concern. But after finding the S W James website and reading about their work ethic, the materials used and general high standards involved, the hunch to go to them struck a cord with us instantly. And, on a side note, I'm definitely more of an 'old school' kind of guy, so being able to call, talk, have a conversation and discuss options directly, was, for me, absolutely the right way to go about configuring our sofa. “S.W.James must be a dyeing breed with service and quality that you no longer get.I found them on line after sadly being unsatisfied with many furniture shops offering the world but delivering inflated pricing for poorly produced products.Warren dealt with me from start to finish and answering all my awkward questions, was very patient and understood that i dont put up with poor quality or service.
