I came across SW James about 2 years ago, when I was looking for a Chesterfield sofa and couldn't believe how they looked and sounded on the website. Eventually I persuaded my wife to come with me for a look at the showroom in Bollington. (we can go and look but we are not buying she said). We ordered 2 sofas there and then when she saw them. “Hubby has always wanted a Chesterfield and after a back injury he was finding our old suite uncomfortable , I agreed he could have one if we found a comfortable one so I went on a mission to find the very one . SW James claimed to make the most comfortable chesterfield, contact was made with Warren and we visited the showroom in April. What a pleasant surprise the claim was true the Huxley is a very comfy sofa. We ordered it in August and it was delivered the first week in October. The service and regular updates along the way have been second to none from Warren . The delivery went smoothly too . “Beautiful furniture, excellent service. We bought a lovely bespoke chesterfield sofa. Hand built to order so there was wait, but Warren kept us updated and the sofa was delivered on time and with zero fuss. One year later the sofa still looks beautiful despite being used daily by the whole family- testament to the quality of the materials and excellent craftsmanship involved. “I was looking for a leather wingback chair for my study, and after much searching came across SW James furniture. They had a selection of wingback chairs, and importantly for me a chair which would fit through a standard door. I contacted Warren and we talked about the different chairs and leather options. I selected the Antique red and a chair called the Dorothy. Warren sent leather swatches so I could check the colours. The result , which I am sitting in now, is a superb leather armchair, so comfortable,and suits the study perfectly. “My previous attempt at buying a new leather sofa ended in disaster as the manufacturing company went bankrupt so a good friend suggested I look at S W James website so I had a browse and was very impressed so I dropped them an email Warren the co_owner telephoned me the next day told me all about the company ,manufacturing procedures and delivery I took delivery of my new birdie sofas in under 5 weeks and the quality of the sofa's and the leather used was superior to others i'd tried,from ordering to delivery this has been a very very good experience I would have no hesitation recommending Warren and the team at S W James”
“Just a quick update on my previous review. We bought 2 Huxley sofas back in June 2021. Unfortunately we had a bit of a problem with the underside of one of the cushions. I sent Warren an email about it and he arranged to have the cover repaired, gratis. Just got it back today, about 2 weeks after we discovered the problem. Amazing follow up service from S.W James - you just can’t find companies with this level of customer service any more. If you are in the market for a new sofa, I can’t recommend S.W.James highly enough!”
