I asked if possible that my gift be delivered in 26 August as it was a birthday surprise. Unfortunately the gift was delivered on Saturday 23rd and my family were away for the weekend. I was not pleased. I am the recipient will enjoy your products, but I might think twice before ordering again.

Hi Florence, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I'm genuinely sorry the timing didn't work out as planned for your birthday surprise. I can understand your disappointment about the Saturday delivery. This caught us off guard too, as NZ Post doesn't usually deliver on Saturdays, which is why we calculated the dispatch timing as we did. Unfortunately, once parcels are in the courier system, we can't control their delivery routes or when they choose to make deliveries. This is actually a challenge that affects all online retailers using courier services. With Monday and Tuesday delivery requests, we face a real dilemma: if we hold off dispatching until Monday to avoid early delivery, there's a risk the gift arrives late with NZ Post's 1 to 2 business day timeframe. We always aim to dispatch early enough to hit the target date, but courier route planning occasionally results in earlier than expected delivery. Would you consider updating your review to reflect that the products themselves were enjoyed? The delivery timing issue you experienced is really about how courier companies operate rather than our service, and as a small Kiwi business, reviews make a real difference to us. If you do decide to order with us again, please pop a note in the order comments about timing concerns, and we'll work with you to find the best solution. No problem with the goods supplied (although they did seem expensive). Given that I had specified a delivery date I was disappointed to learn it was delivered two days early.

Thanks for your review and feedback. We appreciate it! Gifts (or goods) in New Zealand can be slightly more expensive than in the UK — that's just the nature of being a small island nation. We also primarily work with small-batch artisan producers and craft beer breweries, which differs from ultra-processed beers and industrially-made products you would find at most supermarkets. Regarding the delivery date, the parcel was delivered one day early, but due to the time difference with the UK, you may have thought it was two days. We are very transparent with our shipping timeframes and mention this could be the case because we always need to anticipate delays with courier companies (especially now during winter) or if nobody is at home to sign for a delivery containing alcohol. To keep the surprise, we always add a "Please open me on _______" sticker with the date on the outside courier packaging in case this happens. We hope the recipient still liked the gift. Thanks so much again for supporting Aotearoa's small artisan producers.
