Overall this scooter is awesome. It does have some drawbacks but for the price - totally worth it.
I live in an area of Austin, TX that has plenty of hills and somewhat limited "flat" roads. While I use this scooter purely for enjoyment and not as a commuter, my review is limited to a suburban world and not considered as downtown city life. For me, it's for buzzing around the neighborhood, traveling to some nearby stores and picking up the mail from the neighborhood mailbox. For all the above activities, it's adequate.
I can easily get about 8 miles before it quits. Considering I weigh about 185lbs and traveling up long uphill grades, while sometimes maxing out at 10 km/h, I think it does well. Downhill, I easily do the stated 30 km/h and on the flat areas around the neighborhood I can usually attain the stated 30km\h. It REALLY does struggle on even the smallest incline. If I had a commute up these hills, I would definitely consider a more powerful scooter but it would be double the price. For just messing around the neighborhood, I can overlook the weak uphill performance.
The build quality is outstanding. All metal construction, the wooden deck with grip tape is great! The ride is wonderful. I feel like it's on par with the Bird or Lime scooters as far as ride quality goes. I was looking for a scooter that had non-inflatable tires due to the problems people were having with the M365 in getting new tubes in. With this scooter, it's not an issue because there is no tube. Braking is fine. I really like the handbrake and it feels like I have a lot of control. I know some people are complaining about the cruise control but I find that it works fine and I have no complaints. I don't really care that the speed is listed in kilometers only - not a big deal to me.
Again, it does struggle with the hills but if I were to use it in an area that was flat, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it as a commuter. For the price, you can't go wrong.
