Good desk, nice size, but slightly bumpy wood grain surface which is not good for writing

The build quality is good. Only problems are: 1. Single motor is not as powerful as the dual motor one I have at work. It is noticably more noisy. 2. The two stage frame does not have good range. It does not go low enough. 3. The controller is made of cheap plastic.

Love it. Doesn't wobble at all. The motor is so smooth and quick. And not difficult setting up.

Everything about the order, from the beginning to receiving the desk was smooth. The V3 desk is sturdy at its maximum height, thanks to its cross-support bar and the 'onetouch' feature (turned off by default but once turned on) is awesome. Easy to put together and the assembly videos on YouTube are extremely helpful. My only gripe is that it came with everything needed to assemble, except the 'square bit' which is recommend but not required. Luckily, I had one, and it made assembling possible faster. Worth the money, IMO.

Pros: - Solid wood material and metal framing - Pre-screwed holes. (Not for all components. They want to leave some of it up to the user too, in case you buy the wire management accessory for example.) - It is able to hold large tower case, ultra-wide monitor, another 27" monitor and my laptop (keyboard, mouse, battery backup under desk with CPU holder and other accessories as well) It is able to lift all of this with no worries. - Very small amount of wobble above 40" height. Really appreciate BTOD and it's videos showing wobble test for the various desk. It helped with my decision making. Cons: - I bought a 72" desk. BTOD uses a third-party carrier for these size of deliveries. I had to do a lot of calling around to get this scheduled as an appointment for delivery. Hope this can be a bit smoother for others sometime in the near future. Other Thoughts: - Couple of extras I purchased, the wire management and the surge protector. They made it easier to manage all the wiring under the desk for sure. Would recommend. - So I would like to see maybe an option to see a pre-drilled grommet option in the middle of a desk closer to the keyboard and mice. This would allow the user to run wires down instead of across the desk giving it a much cleaner look. That one detail could give VertDesk another edge on the competition.

I reviewed a lot of alternative adjustable height desks before purchasing the VertDesk (Version 3.0). I went with the more expensive VertDesk as opposed to the Jarvis/Autonomos/Uplift desks because of the cross support and the tests I saw on BTOD showing superior quality parts and sturdiness. Assembling wasn't too bad but beware, you need a drill and at an electric screwdriver would of been better to hand tightening the screws, which is what I did. To my dismay I kept getting this "CON" error when I first started up the desk. This meant that telephone wire that connects the up/down switch (you press to raise/lower the desk) to the control box had a disrupted connection. I quadruple checked the connections and wires finding no fault or dirt etc. I read the troubleshooting section of the manual which recommended restarting power but that didn't help, still the same old CON error. I contacted customer service and they said they were going to send me a new switch and a new control box but I had to return the original. I was loosening the screws to take off the switch and control box to return to BTOD, before disconnecting, while loosened, I decided to try the desk one more time and lo and behold it worked perfectly. I believe that I tightened the up/down switch to the underside of the desk too much and compressed the wire which caused the connection disruption. I reattached switch, this time less tightly, and the desk is working as it should. I'm 175lbs and I sat on the desk and it had no trouble raising me up. It's sturdy but consequently heavy so don't lift the box solo. My only advise to the maker of this desk would be to try to use a different type of wood screw because the ones included tend to strip easily but they provide plenty of extra ones. I used a drill to slightly increase the diameter of the pilot holes to ease hand-tightening of the screws. Maybe having a slightly large diameter pilot hole would help if screws are to remain the same. I went with the grey/driftwood color and black support legs. Thought it's not "real" wood, the quality is solid and probably more stain resistant.

My biggest concern was getting a standing desk that would wobble in the standing position. The reviews I read said that the Vertdesk is one of the most stable on the market and they are all true. Even when I try to shake the desk I barely notice any wobbling in the sitting position and it is barely more noticeable when standing.
