“The Steelcase Amia Chair is comfortable and well built, although not perfect for me. I wish it has high back with headrest to lean back when watching movies, but it is fine for working at upright position. Also, the base seems a bit too wide, it is good for stability, but when I try to move around, my feet often ends up hitting on it, not a big issue anyhow.
I opted for the Greener Option with used Grade-A gas cylinder and armrest, unfortunately, both armrest wiggle a little and the cylinder sinks too much that it actually rubs against the carpet when moving. I guess there is a good reason btod replaces them when refurbishing, I am not a very experienced buyer for office chairs and trusted Grade-A without much thinking.
However, I have no complains about Btod's service. The new replacement cylinder was sent to me promptly with easy to follow instructions and thoughtful follow up. Also, Btod.com is a great resource for office chairs, they educate the customers about their purchases which I find really helpful. Overall, I have trust in them and will not hesitate to refer to Btod for my future purchases.”
“Steelcase Amia is my new favorite chair. I used to have a Herman Miller Aeron, but I found that none of the available sizes fit me well and as a result I ended up sitting with poor posture. The Steelcase Amia seat is less comfortable than the Aeron, but it supports you better and helps you sit up. The Amia also just fits my body size much better. I also think the Amia armrests are much better than the Aeron armrests in terms of comfort and adjustability. BTOD's refurbishing was also great. I didn't even notice any cosmetic defects and the upholstery is high quality. Seems like a no brainer to save money and by refurbished rather than new.”
“Overall, its a great chair. I'm 6' 2" and about 225 lbs. It fits me pretty well. I love the seat, firm, but comfortable. It could not be more perfect for my liking. The lumbar is a bit weak when in the upright position, but is not bad at all when I recline the back. The arm rests are too hard for me, but I installed memory foam covers that are perfect softness. Most important of all is my back no longer hurts (previous chair was old and cheap). I sit in a Herman Miller Aeron at work and like this chair much more for seat comfort. Granted its a good chair too.”
“All three of these chairs that I got for the home office work well and were easy to assemble, definitely a large upgrade from the initial office chair I purchased as a cheap amazon selection as my business was starting a year ago.
Personally love the longevity I have sitting in the seat and not needing to readjust, and all levers/knobs are simple, easy access, improve critical aspects of how the chair sits.
Wheels are free turning and good on my hardwood floors, one of the total 15 casters was damaged but that was done in shipping so not a knock on the product itself.”
