I cannot express what an amazing mattress this is. I paid over £1k for my last mattress over 10 yrs ago from another retailer, and thought that was a great mattress, but this is in another realm. Firm but at the same time sumptuous due to the topper. It is truly a 5 star experience and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone

Beautiful mattress: Comfortable Soft No odour Supportive and firm without being hard and restrictive We are very pleased up to now and it’s only been a few weeks; we keep rotating the mattress as suggested. Much better than our Simba mattress that we had to return for so many reasons. Will highly recommend Button & Sprung. Great customer service and a pleasure to deal with.

Perendale King Size firmer mattress is like sleeping on a cloud from the first night. No issues breaking in the mattress at all. On first visit to the showroom I had decided on the normal tension, but on second visit it seemed too soft, I choose the firmer tension and am so happy that I did! What a mattress! Like sleeping in a 5* hotel every night!

The Perendale felt dreamlike in the showroom, however it has taken me a long time (>2 months) to start to get used to/soften up the deeply contoured top surface. For the first few days I felt like I was sleeping (/ not sleeping) on an over-inflated camping air bed with every foot of my body being twisted in different directions. Whilst my wife loved it from the start, and it undoubtably feels luxurious with excellent support, great breathability, and complete isolation between our movements, the high ‘waviness’ of this mattress is certainly an acquired taste that won’t be for everyone. We were coming from a smooth but sagging Emma Original mattress.

Hi James, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! It can take a few weeks of sleeping on the mattress to properly 'break-in' the surface, which is rather like breaking in a new pair of leather shoes. The 'waviness' you describe is the tufting across the surface of the mattress. Tufting is a traditional technique that's been used in mattress making for 100's of years, and sleeping on a hand-made, natural mattress is a different experience to sleeping on foam (such as Emma). The sensation of the tufting should not be noticeable once the mattress has been broken in. I would also advise using a natural mattress protector (not topper!) along with your sheets, which will protect the surface of the mattress and reduce any sensation of tufts. I'll reach out to you now. It might be that if you're still finding the mattress uncomfortable that it's not the right tension for you, or that you're not getting on with the pillow-top feature of the Perendale model. All best, Sophia
