“Our trip was perfect, from landing in Buenos Aires we were met by our English speaking guide and taken to our beautiful Hotel. Everything went like clockwork and it was the most stressfree holiday we have ever had. Everything that Chimu organised was perfect.We were always picked up and dropped off on time and was well communicated through Whatsapp even when our plane was late. We didnt have to worry about anything as it was so well organised. The trip on the Seaventure was fantastic. The guides were amazing and so enthusiastic about thier jobs it was so enjoyable to see. The daily zodiac cruises and landings were spectacular and our questions to the guides were answered with enthusiasm and humour. The food was fantastic as was the service from the crew. Each crew member was extermely polite and respectful and it made us feel a bit special. Our daily updates and information was interesting and we knew exactly what the conditions were like and what we were doing before each outing. Just a wonderful experience and each day was packed with activities and lectures between outings. Couldnt be happier.”

Describe the aspects of your itinerary that you thought worked really well. Our expedition ship, Ocean Victory, was very comfortable and well appointed. The crew were professional, knowledgeable and experienced. We were lucky that the weather allowed us to have 2 zodiac outings and 2 landings per day while in Antarctica.

Describe the aspects of your itinerary that you thought needs improving The only tiny complaint is that the meat served at the mid-week Antarctic BBQ evening was cold. It would be great if they could have some warming trays or similar to keep it heated for all the guests. A big ask, I know! The BBQ evening was a hoot, so this is a very small suggestion for improvement.

“Antarctica is a place that you can only imagine until you actually see it. The environment and scenery are breathtaking; and it's incredible to see the penguins and other wildlife.”

Describe the aspects of your itinerary that you thought needs improving The demographics of the passengers was unbalanced consisting or two significant groups (about 65% of the passengers) with a large proportion non english speaking; and the remaining small number of passengers was a blend of varying nationalities. I was anticipating a more balanced demographic. The imbalance significantly reduced the opportunity for varied social interaction on board and was a disappointment.

“We were extremely fortunate as far as the weather went so were able to experience all the landing and zodiac cruises as planned and even were able to have an extra landing due to favourable seas and weather. The ship, the Ocean Victory, together with her crew and expedition crew were excellent”

Describe the aspects of your itinerary that you thought worked really well. All the days on board the were perfectly organised. Only thing that could be improved was the time before boarding the ship, there was no place to shelter or wait. Walking around Ushuaia in the rain for half a day can be challenging. Some sort of waiting room would be good.

Describe the aspects of your itinerary that you thought needs improving Providing a shelter of some sort on the day of embarkation. Having to wait in the rain in Ushuaia is not great fun.

“Its hard to put it into words. Antarctica is a unique place and nothing compares, its beauty, wildlife, isolation and diversity is like no other place on earth. I only hope it will be protected for all mankind and that tourism will be strictly monitored and limited. Some passengers were insensitive to the fragility of the place and at times the expedition team could and should have been more assertive with reprimanding those passengers.”
