A great introduction to sewing techniques. Susan was very calm and helpful throughout, which was ideal while learning a new skill! The class left me wanting to practice immediately after!

This class was perfect for beginners! We started with learning a bit about different types of sewing machines and fabrics, and then learned how to set up our sewing machines, sew straight lines, sew curved lines, two types of seams, two types of hems, how to apply interfacing (and why we need it!), how to understand/use patterns, etc. After this class, I feel so excited and ready to try making my first basic garment. Susan was so knowledgeable, kind and is a great teacher and I highly recommend this class for anyone interested in getting started with sewing!

Susan is a very knowledgeable teacher and I really loved the class. She gave me the confidence to take on a project of my own! However, the classroom is small and cluttered; for the price, I expected a much nicer environment.

This class was wonderful! Susan provided so much wisdom in her teaching, and the class structure meant I came away feeling confident to buy a machine and get sewing! She also provided amazing resources including her favourite spots for sourcing fabrics and patterns. I had never touched a machine and now I feel ready to make my own wardrobe! Highly recommend!!

Amazing. Everything you need as a beginner all in one day & lots of 1-2-1 help throughout. Susan was extremely knowledgeable and gave us the insider information from her many years of experience that you wouldn’t learn online. From enhancing patterns, to the best places to buy fabrics. Lots of resources shared afterwards too for next steps. I’ve not hand sewn or used a sewing machine before so really was a beginner, and left leaving the class with a wealth of information and with the all the essential skills for making a garment, I.e darts, zips, seams, needles, fabric weight, choosing machine ect. Others had either hand sewn or brought their own machine, yet the pace was great for everyone. Definitely worth the experience! Thank you very much Susan
