Great class for a complete beginner! I'd never used a sewing machine before, but Susan was a great teacher and I learned lots during the class. In just one day we learned how to set up different types of machine machine, lots of different types of stitch, open & closed hems, pivoting, joining on a curve, sewing a facing, creating darts, sewing a concealed zip, two types of hem, and making a button hole. It was lovely that we got to keep everything we'd made during the day as a record and a memory aid for trying things at home.

Susan was so helpful and gave us so much information. Would advise bringing a little notebook or I took some photos as well. We were able to bring home all the sewing samples and it flew by. Thank you!

I bought this class as a gift for my 14 year old daughter. She was so thrilled, she got loads out of the day. It's a great intro class - teaches basic skills rather than making a piece, but things that you can put together to make many things. She was really inspired by the teacher, Susan, who used to work in fashion. A huge plus for us was that my daughter could bring her own sewing machine and learn on that. She's had it a couple of years but failed to make any progress teaching herself, so this was the boost she needed to get going.
