“I use them this weekend , I purchased two of them for a large campsite they lit up very well the downside to them is that on Amber the lowest setting is still too bright.”
Thanks for sharing your experience Dale, glad to hear your LightRanger 2000s lit up your large campsite well and appreciate your feedback about the lowest amber setting being too bright.
“Used this for the first time when camping and it's an awesome light. I love the Bluetooth control, particularly the amber light and how compact it is. It puts out a lot of light which was perfect to light up the campsite and the dimming feature is really nice too. I had a slight issue with mine and customer service was quick to respond and resolved the issue by immediately sending a new one out and I couldn't be happier with their service.”
Thanks for the review. We're glad the LightRanger 2000 helped light up your campsite with its bright output, dimming feature, compact design, and amber light, and that you enjoyed using the Bluetooth control while also having a great experience with our customer service supporting your rechargeable camping light and campsite lighting needs.
“Works well and love the different light colors. The only thing I would change is the Bluetooth connection…it times out and you have to turn the light back on to reconnect. This would be fine other than in the middle of the night when you eat the light on.”
Thanks for the review, Mark. We're glad the LightRanger 2000 is working well for you and that you love the different light colors, and we appreciate your feedback on the Bluetooth connection as we continue improving our rechargeable camping light and campsite lighting gear for your outdoor use.
Thanks for the review, Nick. We're glad you're loving the LightRanger 2000 and its bright output, amber lights, and easy app control, making it an awesome rechargeable camping light and campsite lighting option for your outdoor adventures.
“The light is amazing. The light appears well built. I have a 2000. Probably the best electric camp light that I have owned. Hoping it is my last camp light and last me a few decades of camping. A removable battery like a cordless drill might be nice. The price is extravagant.”
Thanks for the review, Shawn. We're glad the LightRanger 2000 has been an amazing and well-built addition to your gear, providing you with one of the best rechargeable camping lights and campsite lighting setups for your outdoor adventures, and we appreciate your feedback on removable batteries and pricing as we continue to improve.
“If you're reading this review, you obviously have a use for and are interested in this fantastic... um... well... portable streetlight, (we'll go with that). Anyway, in short, GET THIS LIGHT, IT'S FANTASTIC!!
Okay, I get it I don't know that I would be convinced by just that, so please excuse my exuberance there, but seriously, if you love doing any sort of outdoor activity, live in a power outage-prone area, or simply want a HUGE upgrade for a lantern (my use), this is the ideal option.
So I am a huge outdoors person who has used a certain very well-known brand of liquid-fueled lanterns for many years. I have done so because they have always been tough, lasted about 4 hours per fill, and most importantly are extremely bright. That being said, recently my barely broken-in lantern that was days out of warranty failed me when I needed it most (as night fell at my campsite) so obviously I needed something better. All of that being said, I FINALLY decided to look into something I had known about for a long time but was hesitant due to a few factors, including price. (For some of us) the listed price isn't something we can easily part with, so I was truly hopeful I was getting something worth it in return, obviously I did!
Now there are really only three options on the market for something like this that can reach 10 feet: A cheap Chinese 12-volt outlet plug cr**p version that isn't worth its price, A different brand that is comparatively priced to this one but that is easily broken, or this fantastically well-thought-out Devos LightRanger 2000. I am simply going to gloss over the first one, as for option 2; it's way overpriced, as the battery sits at the bottom of the mostly plastic tripod, meaning if any part breaks, it's all broken, and option 3; The Devos LightRanger! For the LightRanger, Devos took a modular approach, as every part is independently replaceable. By this, I am talking about the light being a single independent unit, the 9-foot center pole, and the 1-foot tripod base (mostly metal parts). Each of the listed parts can easily be disconnected and or individually purchased / replaced. Now obviously, you get everything with the kit, but it's super handy if you ever need a particular replacement part as you're not out a whole other unit.
As for the light itself, at full power it can run just as long as my now non-functioning gas version could (4 hours AT FULL POWER and much longer at lower light outputs). Plus this LightRanger 2000 is substantially brighter for 4 hours than my old lantern. Moreover, unlike said gas lantern, this LightRanger 2000 can instantly change from bright white to a more comfortable anti-bug yellow or even a night-sight-friendly red. Plus unlike my old gas lantern this can be dimmed via the slide bar in the free app that controls the light, perfect for when it's 10 feet in the air. Honestly the app was my final deciding factor as it has full control from a good distance.
The free " DEVOS " app can be found in the Play Store and offers simple, full control of the light via a Bluetooth connection, and offers a much more robust set of options than the two buttons on the light itself. Now obviously it's very helpful that the light can be mostly controlled via the two buttons as well but the app definitely offers a lot more precise options. Beyond the standard features that the buttons offer, in the app you gain the ability to have the light auto-turn off (assuming you're within range at said time), plus you can custom-set which sides are on or off, dim the light via the slide bar, and of course change the 3 colors.
Did I mention this is a portable street light? So, once you set up the tripod and extend the pole to the top, this sits at the same height as some residential street lights and puts out generally more light at said height. This is perfect for lighting up a very good area while keeping the light out of your eyes and the bugs out of your face (the yellow helps lessen the bugs, but isn't perfect). Unlike my gas lantern that had to be attached to a tree or set on the table, this can be adjusted to a custom height via the sliding telescopic poles, allowing you the perfect light at the perfect height with ease. Plus the tripod is super fast and easy to set-up, taking only a few seconds to deploy or retract, plus it's simple enough to do after it's already dark outside.
Now obviously there are plenty more fantastic features that the product video and description talk about, and as much as I would love to keep raving about this amazing light, I know at this point you're likely eager to purchase one for yourself, so I will let you do that. But before I do, I would like to mention two last things that I feel are particularly noteworthy. One, this can be set up and utilized in stormy, rainy weather without issue as it's rated for very heavy rain and snow. Two, this offers pass-through charging (i.e., it can be charged as you use it, even at full power). Moreover, since it charges via a USB-C plug, you can utilize a battery bank with a 30-watt + output or the included 30-watt outlet plug, as both will give you fast charging. Couple that with an 11-foot cord, and despite recharging taking substantially longer than simply pouring liquid fuel into my old lantern, this is not an issue due to the pass-through charging as once needed you can just plug it into a power bank and let it recharge as you use it.
So in closing, I highly recommend you acquire yourself one, possibly more of these amazing Devo's LightRanger 2000's, as I know you will love it as much as I do. Not to mention, the moment everyone you show it to will instantly want one as well (true story). All of that being said, I hope this helped shine some light on any questions you might have had that were stopping you from acquiring such an amazing light. I also truly hope you are currently and continue to have an amazing day or maybe night with plenty of time to enjoy outside.
