“I recently purchased both the Eko CORE 500™ Digital Stethoscope and the Eko CORE™ Digital Attachment, and I wanted to share my experience as a general pediatrician. The Eko CORE 500’s digital display of heart rate is a helpful feature, especially when examining school-age children. The sound quality is clear, and the device is user-friendly in this age group. However, I have found that the diaphragm on the CORE 500 is somewhat large for use with newborns and infants. This makes it challenging to localize murmurs or differentiate the precise location of abnormal cardiac sounds in smaller patients. For my newborn and infant exams, I prefer using the Eko CORE Digital Attachment with my Welch Allyn DLX stethoscope and its pediatric diaphragm. This combination allows for better auscultation and localization of cardiac findings in younger children.”

“I had received the Eko 500 as a gift for Paramedic school. I have used it in many scenarios and love it! It does wonders to drown out the background noise of the ambulance, enhancing lung and heart tones, and all around, makes my job easier. My only complaint is that the ear pieces like to come off. Otherwise it’s a must have for any clinician!”

“I wear hearing aids for tinnitus and on days I am using a stethoscope, I either have to take them out at work or simply not wear them. I tried a Bluetooth only stethoscope and immediately regretted it. A nurse o work with has the Eko Core 500 and one day said “listen to the cool murmur” and handed me her stethoscope. I ordered my own that afternoon and haven’t regretted it. After working in pediatrics for 26 years, I now work in Hospice and most of my patients are 90+ years old. I can hear everything with this stethoscope. I wonder how many murmurs I missed with my Peds patients . Great investment all the way around.”
