APOLLO Explore Reviews

I bought this scooter to get to and back from work. It's a 20km commute and the Explore handles it like it's nothing. Customer service is extremely quick and helpful and so far I don't have anything bad to say about this scooter. Love it!

I have a 15 mph ($299) scooter for my kids, it was the preferred mode of transportation (over their bikes), but the Apollo Explore is now all of our favorite. The speed is good on flats, but really slows down on the street climbs all around our house. The range is good at up to 35-40 miles, even while averaging 28 mph. The stock front and back are nice to smooth the road out. The one complaint I do have is: the flimsy plastic back fender is held on by 2 mini screws, and on my second long commute when I got home the fender was missing. I spent a whole day fabricating a large steel rear fender that you can stand on. I think I improved the design a lot. Stopping power is just ok too.

I bought this scooter for my husband and it's perfect. He's a big guy and the scooter gets him around just fine. It's small enough to be manageable but still really solidly built. I would highly recommend this scooter to anyone.

I want to start out by saying that this scooter is not a toy! The Explorer is my first scooter. I'll be 70 years old this year and have been riding motorcycles for almost 50 years. Traffic (and roads) in the Detroit metropolitan area are terrible, so I decided that it was time to stop riding. I still wanted something two-wheeled to move around town on. This scooter if perfect for that. I throw a backpack on and use it to run errands or I just jump on it to take a joy ride (works great for a run to the local pub). So much fun! The scooter is designed well, built well, runs smooth, quick, quiet and almost runs forever on a charge. I'm an old man on a cool scooter. The only modifications that I made so far; 1) I cut about six inches off the rear fender. This stopped it from flexing and rattling whenever I hit a bump. 2) I installed stainless steel hose clamps on the handlebar to keep the threaded collars and bars from getting loose when riding on rough surfaces. 3) I also installed a hose clamp on the handlebar stem to keep it from sliding down for the same reason. (These clamps can be easily loosened if ever I want to fold the scooter). 4) I'm trying to come up with a handle that I can install near the rear wheel so that the scooter can be easily picked up to lift over obstacles. 5) 2400 lm. headlight is on it way. I'm very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend this scooter to be used for basic transportation or just for the fun of it.

I researched a lot of scooters and decided to purchase the Apollo Explorer. Apollo really thought about the customers needs by putting their own additives on this design. I seen other companies with the same design scooter and their features didn't come close. This is my first scooter, so I was a lil nervous riding it alone but after an hour or two I was super comfortable. Gear 1, was just enough speed for me, but when a professional cyclist pass me by, I had to bumb it up to gear 2. I guess I let my ego get in the way. Lol. In gear 1. I hit 17mph on a fresh battery then it stays on 15mph. Riding in gear 2 hitting 25mph is perfect. I passed ebikes, cars and other scooters. I went 19 miles mostly in gear 2, and only used two bars. I really like that I can decrease or increase the acceleration. I start riding with the acceleration on level 1, but I needed more so I bumped it back up to level 4, and there's a big difference. I also like the choice of setting (kick to start) for safety. The most surprising experience is going up the hill. I have two very very steep hills in my neighborhood. I set the scooter to gear 3, and I cruise up the steepest hill at 12mph. The weight did surprise me a little at 53lbs. I live on the second floor. It's manageable. I'm 5'9 183lb The only CON I have is I wished the front had better SHOCKS/SPRINGS to provide more of a bounce. The Apollo Explorer is a excellent first starting scooter. I named my scooter "BLAZE"
