fluid HORIZON V1 - 48V 10.4Ah - 23 miles Reviews

4.7 Rating 764 Reviews
Overall it's a nice scooter but there are some disappointments after riding it for a few weeks. First, the positive. It's a mostly well built scooter and comfortable. Also easy to operate and the support is very good and responsive. What I'm disappointed in is the maximum speed and distance. I'm 210lbs so I assumed it would be less than what was advertised, and it is. I can go approximately 18-19mph and 14 miles. Not so impressed by that. Also, the back fender is flimsy and snapped off after a couple weeks. The replacement is expensive for what's especially a $2 piece of plastic.

Been using the Horizon for a couple of months for a 4-mile commute to work each day. After 200 miles, it's going strong. Several people have stopped me on the road to ask about how it works, and are impressed with the power and 25-mph speeds. Tires stick to the road like glue. With my backpack, I'm about 250lbs and it only struggles on the very steepest hills, but a quick manual kick gets me over the top. I would buy a second one, but I can't imagine I'll need to because the one I have is so reliable. Thanks!

The Horizon is a beautiful scooter. It's fast, powerful, comfortable, easy to operate, and surprisingly agile and responsive. I added the optional trolley wheels, which allowed me to easily roll it into the elevator and through the halls of my large office building without wearing myself out by carrying it or tracking mud from the tires onto the carpet. Since there's no parking at work and public transportation has been severely disrupted by the pandemic, this looked like a brilliant commuting solution. On my third day of using the Horizon, however, the locking mechanism failed shortly after I started home from work. Despite my paranoid habit of triple checking that the front stem was locked in place and pulling forward on the handlebars to test that everything was firmly secured, the scooter very suddenly folded shut while in operation on the road. I landed behind the deck with enough force that my foot bent up so that my toes touched my shin. I had to crawl back onto the sidewalk and ended up in the ER with three torn ligaments. Roughly 6 weeks later, I'm still stuck with a foot brace and crutches. I thought I must have done something wrong somehow, but when my husband, who is a mechanic, thoroughly tested the scooter after my accident, it randomly folded shut on him too on his third trial. The company's response to this situation was simply "We're sorry to hear you're having issues with your scooter" and a link to a video about loosening and retightening the bolts on the stem. We followed the steps in the video, and the locking mechanism is now so tight it's difficult to disengage without a tool, but I'm still not sure I'd ever feel safe getting on it again, whenever I'm able to walk again. I don't understand why a safety hazard as serious as the ability to secure the locking mechanism isn't checked prior to sale or why the Horizon doesn't offer a more fail-safe way for riders to verify that the lock is completely secure and can't slip out. If the lock can still disengage even when it appears to be fully engaged, when the rider can hear an audible click as it locks, and when the stem remains steady after the rider pulls forward on the handlebars, how can one know that the lock is actually set? I think it's reasonable to say that I need to be able to know that if I do everything right, the vehicle I'm operating won't have a major structural failure and severely injure me in the middle of the road at night again. At this point, I'm stuck with an expensive, unrideable scooter, and no way at all to get to work reliably because I can't even bike or walk.

I have had my scooter now for almost two weeks. For the most part the scooter is great. I only wish I had invested in a better model. The horizon does not go fast enough nor does it have the range for a rider like myself. If you expect to get the 20 mile range out of it you better stay in the low setting, any other setting will kill the battery thus shortening your range big time. Definitely not a commuter scooter, more for very short leisurely rides.

Awesome scooter and the 20 mile range version is plenty for my needs. Im about 175 pounds and have been able to achieve 23 mph max downhill. Thank God for the shocks. Im only 100 miles in and I am a little worried about the longevity of this scooter and hope all the parts and battery hold up beyond the warranty cut off. The short warranty still is very concerning to me. Ive had to contact the service department for questions and they have been really responsive and easy to work with. It comes with a bell which is great. People comment that the charging port location is bad because it could potentially be broken off by the wheel but its not a concern at all...just fold the scooter and plug in. There's no need to plug the scooter in while fully assembled on the kick stand. Just fold and plug in. Simple. One thing I would change would be the screw to secure handlebars which do slowly unscrew depending on the bumps but its not really a problem. I just hope it holds up beyond the warranty and I really hope it stands the test of time. Im only 100 miles in so we shall see but I am really concerned that after 6 months of daily use that this thing may not entirely survive....send another review request in 6 months to a year.
