fluid HORIZON V1 - 48V 10.4Ah - 23 miles Reviews

I'm not far from my job so I use this to get around instead of my car. I use it to shop and get pretty much everywhere. Occasionally I still opt for the car as this only goes ~20 miles on a charge but it's very good for an electric scooter. I've gotten it to a top speed of 24mph but it seems to only top at 23mph now, which is okay. This will basically hold me over until I finish building my ebike and then I will use this to get to grocery stores or the little shops in the area. I would recommend the wheel attachment, although i haven't gotten it, only because it is a little clunky when folded due to the front wheel not touching the ground afterwards. Only have 1 real minor issue with it as of yet and that would be a clicking noise in the wheel somewhere. All in all I'd say this is worth the buy but if you can wait to get it a little cheaper you should. It may go on sale again, I just couldn't wait personally.

I wanted to buy a new scooter for mu 12 years old to replace his old toy scooter (razor 300). I previously pre-ordered the mantis scooter and I had a great customer experience so I decided to cancel an order I had with Indiegogo for a ninebot segway max and buy a Horizon. Both the Mantis and Horizon were shipped to Mexico it took like 5 days to get here. My son loves the Horizon and so do I , it is light, fast and very comfortable to ride. He is currently only using gear 2 but has done like 22 mph there and feeling safe always using protective gear. Acceleration is not abrupt but progressive and the suspension is quite good. We recommend this scooter which I think is the best within this price range. If you want something faster get the Mantis that is the one I got for me and I just love it. fluid freeride will always give you the best customer service! Thanks Peter and team!

Lovely Horizon scooter received from Fluid Free Ride. Love - speed and range, very readable speedometer and battery display. The headlight taillight and two front fog lights and two rear brake lights are very well integrated into the battery platform. I like how the brake lights pulsate when pulling the brake lever. Suggested improvements: headlights are more for others to notice you vs being usable for night time rides. The stock light output is too low for the higher speeds this scooter is capable of. Had to mount my road bicycling Niterider Lumina 950 for better nighttime safet. Also added a bunch of reflective tape to increase passive nighttime visibility. Steering column is not as stiff as a fixed version - although the portability is better thanks to the folding design. Kickstand is a little too short. Brake and accelerator handles could be longer - they're functional but they don't seem sized for adults. Also do not like how there is only one position to plug in the charging cable. Also no alternative option to secure the scooter without running a cable lock or U lock through the front wheel. Would be nice if there were a stronger security locking point. Aside from these minor design considerations to make this commuter scooter better, love the 20+ mile range for a 200 pound rider, top speed of 22 mph (30+ downhill) and the time it saves for me to get to and from work and the gym. Definitely wear s helmet with this since the speed it is capable of is that of a good road bicycle.

Solid first scooter. Just and described and fun to use/ride. Range is substantially lower than expected - 10-12 miles. Not nearly the 25 miles as advertised.

After FedEx delivered with improper signature and my original scooter vanished, fluidfreeride filed a claim and got me a new one sent! Now I can reliably commute to work and am enjoying the suspension, range, and top speed. Excellent customer support. Thanks to the fluidfreeride team for your help and support!

Writing after ~500 miles of use. Pros: +Price point. Perhaps one of the best options available below $1000. +Good speed/range. Sufficient for most short-range commuting hops. +Solid power. At ~185 pounds, gets me up moderate hills without too much issue. Loses some speed on significant inclines, but generally gets the job done. +Solid brakes. Rear drum brake keeps you from flying over the handlebars, and feels far more reliable and powerful than the electric braking some cheaper scooters use. +Decent suspension. Not as powerful as some swing-arm options but still enough to handle most sidewalks and minor bumps in the road without major issues. +Absolute tank. Scooter has survived three loss-of-traction events and one ejection event (having to leap off to avoid a lunatic driver with the spatial awareness of a dead animal is fun) with nothing worse than some scratches to the underside. Neutrals: ~Acceleration. Takes a good few seconds to get up to speed, but holds speed well once it's going. ~Handling. Rear tire will easily lose traction in wet weather conditions, or if accelerating into a turn. Works fine otherwise, though. ~Pneumatic front tire. Helps absorb some of the bumps, but be prepared for flats. Was pleased to discover that fluidfreeride offers spare tubes/parts directly through their website. Cons: -Speed slightly below advertised. Will average ~21 mph on smooth/level terrain. -Lights provide virtually no forward visibility. You'll want to purchase a separate headlight for night riding. -Screw locks on the handlebars, along with the handlebars themselves, rotate loose constantly. Hasn't been severe enough to compromise ride safety, but still a consistent issue. Need to re-tighten during/after every ride. Overall verdict: Very solid purchase. Some faults, but for the price, I'm not sure a better option exists at the moment. Would recommend.
