“62 yo. First scooter purchase. I ride for fun only. Having a ball and glad I got a Mantis. This thing destroys any of the hills around here. In two weeks I've gotten more pleasure from this scooter than I have from any motorcycle or jet ski. I have had one issue. I wanted to remove the front wheel but have been unable to do this. The entire brake assembly is affixed to the swing arm by two small screws. These were overnighted from factory and couldn't be removed. This winter I will drill them out. Hopefully, FluidFree will send me replacements. Also, I'm curious as to wether my particular model had the upgrade to the bolt in the steering stem. Also wondering if I need to complete any registration for warranty. Haven't crashed yet and getting lots of strange looks in my little town!”
“I am 6'3" 230 lbs. I was looking for a scooter that was not only high performance, but had good range, and could comfortably support a person my size. I read many reviews and watched numerous videos on youtube about the different high performance, long range scooters. Of all the scooters available in this category the Mantis Pro fell into the right combo of range, performance, weight, and cost. I havent seen another scooter on the market that hit the sweet spot as well. It isnt perfect and some of the reviews talked about a few of them. The main complaint regarding the loose post seems to have been corrected as mine is very sturdy feeling. Im not a huge fan of the throttle finger actuator as its not super comfortable on long rides and its very sensitive, especially in dual motor mode, but thats a minor complaint overall. The build quality is high, the performance is way more intense than i expected, and the range is amazing. Most importantly I can lift it with one hand when folded. I have heard about problems with the tubes in the tires, so I have ordered a couple of replacemets just in case but so far I havent had any problems. I have about 100 miles on the scooter now so its pretty well broken in. I also read about people sealing the scooter against water intrusion, but its not rainy season now, so I havent done that yet. I ordered a Widewheel Pro for my wife, which she loves and is a good fit for her much smaller size and weight, and the Horizon for my son which we havent received yet. Ill post a review of it once we get it on the road.”
“The battery is very misleading when you turn on the scooter in the panel you see that the battery is full, when you drive it it is at half battery and the miles only lasts 10 miles because then it is almost finished”
Hi there - Note that the battery life varies depending on the riding style. If your only get 10 miles out of a full charge there must be something wrong with your battery. In that case please contact us with your order number at support@fluidfreeride.com so we can help you out. Thanks!
“Great scooter company with great support. Ordered and arrived in the same week shipped coast to coast from FL to CA. Impressive. The scooter arrived with minor damage to the metal hook at the base of the scooter and the rear disc brake rotor was warped. A new hook was sent and I got the rotor straightened at my local bike shop. The scooter has ridiculous power and speed for the money and the overall quality is satisfactory. I will do busy again with this company.”
“I ordered this expensive scooter to save money on transportation. I needed to open the battery pack but the screws were so cheap that the screwdriver ate right through them. I don't understand how something so expensive could come with cheap aluminum screws. I replaced them myself once I managed to get them out. As soon as I tried it out I noticed that the front metal disc on the wheel was making a noise, I don't know if that's normal but it didn't interfere with riding. After one week of use, an error code appeared on the acceleration screen. The scooter wouldn't take off after pushing to start and then would sporadically take off and accelerate all on its own. I reported the issue and had to wait for them to send me a new accelerator screen. I still haven't received it, so I'm looking forward to how fun and easy it's going to be to install considering I am not a technician. I don't think this scooter was worth the money, I know there are many others, maybe I should have went with another brand.”
Hi Humberto - We are sorry to hear that you are having a bad experience. It sounds like your brake might have been slightly rubbing on the front disc, resulting in the noise you describe. This can be resolved with an easy brake adjustment. If this issue persists after you install the new display (you will be provided with detailed instructions), please let us know. We apologize for the inconveniences and are looking forward to getting you back up and scooting asap!
