Edit- It seems I misunderstood the email. They're not sending me a new unit but instead have minor issues fixed and returned to me. I still give FFR 5 stars for they're excellent customer service!

After unboxing and fully assembling the scooter, it turned on but it would not accelerate even after pushing off. I contacted customer support and they instructed me to unplug the display and plug it back in to reset it, after doing this it worked perfectly. No issues since that. Great customer service. Pros: -The scooter has a very high build quality, I really like the folding mechanism (two quick release locks, similar to a bike seat clamp).  -Acceleration is VERY fast and strong. Easily climbs hills and reaches speed of 40 mph, far faster than I will ever need to go. You can use eco/turbo mode and single/dual motor modes to change how fast you need to accelerate -The battery on the Pro variant is more than enough. I still have plenty of range after my commute. -The customer service is very good! They really know their products and are able to give great product support. -The display is high quality, easy to read even in bright daylight. Even has plenty of options to customize how your scooter rides -The scooter just looks very nice in all black, of course that's a personal preference though. -The under deck lighting is very bright and extremely enhances visibility at nighttime -The brakes are very good and strong, remember to not squeeze the front brake too hard or else you might flip over. -The suspension is VERY plush, I love how smooth it is. You can adjust it to make it lower or higher, but I didn't need to modify it as right out of the box it was the perfect setting for me. Cons: -The handlebar is curved in the middle, not much space for a light or phone holder, etc. -You'll need another light for night riding, the included headlight is far too dim -The push buttons for eco/turbo mode and the single/dual motor modes are kinda confusing -The deck has strange white lines that won't really go away, might be dried glue? Cosmetic issue though (see pic) -The mechanism to secure the handlebar doesn't sit flush, it bothers me but is minor (see pic)

Thank you for your review. We recommend a custom fitted handle bar extender that you can mount to extend handle bar space: https://fluidfreeride.com/products/handle-bar-for-mantis Regarding the white residue, this inexplicably happened on a few scooters due to the polish the factory has been using on this production run. You should be able to completely wipe this off with a wet cloth. If stains persist, we can send you a new silicone mat. Just reach out to our support.

The first scooter they sent me had some missing screws and Peter and the the team took care of it with ease. One Morning I went to go right it on and it wouldn't turn on Peter called me personally and ultimately replaced my scooter it comes in today and I can't wait. First ride I went right onto ocean Ave and flored it on more 3 I hit 43 easily and it was Soo fun to be whizzing by cars while smelling the ocean air the brakes on the base version provide sufficient brake support. At 43 mph it's staple but gets squirly on you soit keeps you on your toes. I'm a very parnoid person when it comes to money and when fluidfreeride replaced my scooter I was so relieved to know that I hadn't wasted my Money yessss!!!!!! Yessss!! I love this scooter

I was blown away of the craftsmanship and quality of the Mantis. Had it out this past weekend, and it did not disapoint. Will be using this to commute to work on nice days. Got the GO Pro attached along with additional lighting for twilight rides. Link to GoPro https://gopro.com/v/pJQJ6d0qnJJXG

scooter is an absolute beast, i de-tuned it a bit because its so powerful but do not think its more scooter than you need, the acceleration and speed will make you feel safer than ever. this thing is like driving a fast, cadillac down the road. so fun more importantly, customer service so far from fluid freeride is 100% top notch.

I can't believe how much fun I have riding this thing. I haven't ridden a skateboard in 30 years but it all came back to me.. I'm loving every moment on This brilliant piece of machinery.. acceleration is intense. Breaking is on the dime.. it handles beautifully at any speed.. Living in New York people stopped me all the time and asked me where I got it and how I much.. . A definite thumbs up 5******..!

Ordered the Mantis base model and I have to admit that this unit has a great build. My initial impression is that the Mantis offers good power and a comfortable ride due to its suspension. Not that this is a big setback, but I remain doubtful about the speed accuracy of the display? Checked all settings and with the correct wheel diameter entered, the displayed speed is off (showing slower than actual speed). Would have liked to see a front light as a standard offering; the underlighting is not that efficient in lighting up the path ahead. But this underlighting is great at drawing attention at night (safety factor). I would recommend the Mantis for rider looking for an "adult" scooter. Looking forward longer rides next Spring. Great service and support from Peter and his team, who answer all questions promptly.

Thank you for your review. Check the motor magnetic pole setting (P2). Should be 20 for the base model (the manual mistakenly shows 40). That should fix the speed display issues.
