Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“After 22 years my Le Chameau leather lined wellies started to spilt so it was time for something new. I contemplated getting the same thing again but opted for these instead as I thought the neoprene lining would be good for winter. They’ve taken a bit of time to get used to as they feel very different from the leather lined Chasseur boots but with a pair of thickish socks they feel pretty comfortable (they were slipping a bit at the heel hence the socks). I’ve walked for several miles in them and they feel good. A boot jack is a must for getting them off.”

“Honestly the most comfortable thing I have ever worn on my feet. Just like slipping into a pair of slippers. After reading reviews I decided to go a half size up, which was exactly the right decision. I can see what people say about them being a bit snug on the calf - luckily I have slim legs and it is not really a problem but you do have to tuck your trousers well down. Once on though - an absolute triumph. Soooo warm - I only wear light microfibre knee highs and they are warm enough at the moment and I live in the Highlands of Scotland. Only been down to 3 degrees so interested to see how they will cope with the -17 we had last February! I love them though and have no hesitation in recommending them.”

“These boots are lovely. However I am a size 8 or 8 & 1/2 & 5ft 11. My feet are wide so they were too tight for me across the foot & round the ankle. I contacted Le Chameau and the lady suggested I tried the mens ones. These are absolutely great for me. So much easier to get on and off and more foot room but not at all sloppy or baggy. I have room for thick socks on cold days but you need to be able to move your toes to keep warm! They are extremely comfortable and I am very pleased with the purchase & also the delivery & customer service.”

“After an inferior pair of wellingtons split on me in the middle of a muddy field, a friend came to the rescue with her old pair of Vierzonord's (she keeps them in her car as emergency back up). Despite being years old and somewhat worn out I was instantly impressed and ordered my own pair the next day. Warm, comfortable and dry, absolute dream wellies!”
