“This is the smallest Freewing model I have owned but by no means does this retract from the larger models. Finish and fit is as good as all my other Freewing/Flightline aircraft. The build was straight forward, the only design alteration I made was to add carbon spars on the wing and horizontal stabiliser. For the wing I used a warm 3mm steel rod threaded on the end to increase the hole lengths in the wings and a 4mm carbon tube as a spar. For the horizontal stab I used a warm 2mm steel bar threaded on the end to make holes in the horizontal stab and a 3mm carbon rod as a spar. A simple guide jig was made to ensure the rods were kept parallel. This gave extra strength to the wing joints and to eliminate flex in the wings. All were glued in with 1 hour epoxy. The other modification mad was to cut out the battery tray so I could fit a 3S 2200mah battery. This area was then strengthened using flat carbon strip.The final part was to add a hook 5cm forward of the CG for bungee launching. I have still to fly the Panther but I am sure the she will fly well and with the power on tap do all the necessary scale like manoeuvres.”
