“Bought this plane, it's number 4 in my 64 mm stable, (F-105 Thunderchief F-8 Crusader and Mig 15). Each of these flies different which is the great part. The Panther requires a little forward toss like the MIG 15, but does not sink after hand launch like the F-105 and 8. The plane required a little up trim, I fly the Admiral 3S 1600 pretty far forward. I would rather have it slightly nose heavy, my preference for my birds. She tracks real nice, and up to 8 MPH winds I really don't see alot of wing waggle. The sound is good, it has the jet like exhaust without having to install any of the whistle mods.I plugged the ailerons in to be flaperons, and noticed she balloons up when activated. No you don't really need flaps on this bird but I do dial them in when I can, so if you do be prepared for that. The battery strap is not so great. The other 64mm that I have the battery straps are longer and a better set up than what the Panther has. When you tighten the battery strap make REAL SURE that the battery is secure. After doing some loops and rolls I had the battery slide out and aft resulting in a crash. The plane had come out of a loop and was flying level when all of a sudden, without any input from me, the aft dropped and the nose was pointing skyward. I was able to manage a controlled crash in really tall weeds, the yellow paint really came in handy here. No external damage but upon opening I found the battery had slid out of the strap and slid rearward. Finally, touched on it with the paint. I didn't think I would like the yellow as it is a Warbird. But flying it far out, the yellow is a real good contrast for orientation purposes on these aging eyes.Despite the battery strap I would still give this bird a 5/5 overall.”

“After reading a fair number of reviews I decided to purchase this product with the landing gear and with the recommended 3S 1600 mah battery by Admiral. I put aside the model for a period time before building. Once I started the build I was impressed with the overall quality of the product. I installed an Admiral 6 channel 3 axis gyro receiver and carefully balanced the aircraft per instructions. I used Foam Tac glue for assembly. I greatly reduced the throws and increased expo so I would have a fair chance on initial flight. The 3S 1600 battery was pushed all the way forward. This aircraft was placed on a hard surface which was only 50 feet long. The Panther easily lifted into the air at the end of the 50 feet. Flight lasted about 3 minutes as I needed to adjust down my settings on the gyro. The plane tended to float more than I thought it would during approach so when I was close to ground I cut throttle and dropped to ground. I was shocked that the wings came loose not broken. After reviewing the failure I found that the wing area which had paint over spray on connecting parts had pulled away from the foam so I had just glued to a thin film of paint not the foam. Fixed this issue and used the new clear non-foaming Gorilla glue to re-assemble. Additional flights have found this plane to be a great and fun EDF. I was so impressed with this product I recently purchased a Freewing Cursader with landing gear. Will use all the same setups as on my F9F Panther.”

“What a lovely model. A bit of building and gluing involved, therefore not recommended for those not comfortable with getting wings straight etc. Saying that it is a lovely little model and flies superbly even on 3S. I modded the battery tray so I could fly with a 2200mah 3S, and am delighted with performance. I had read owners who claimed this was a difficult model to hand launch. Not so. With a gentle throw this just flies away lovely. The trick is just a gentle straight throw holding a little up elevator. The flying characteristics are consistent and predictable. A good edf trainer, for those comfortable with and looking to move up from prop models.”
