“Great plane for a lot of fun. I fly it with a 3S 2200 and a little extra weight. No landing gear.Easy to transport. Nice sound and a lot of fun. For a small plane it's no problem to follow it in the air thanks to the clear colors.”

“I've been flying for all most 20 yrs . I've flown hundreds of different jets. The f9 is certainly one of my top three of all time favorites!!! Also, this jet is definitely the best training jet on the market. I have trained many beginning pilots with this jet, with much success. Quality and price? You can't beat it.”

“Well, as most other reviewers have mentioned, the CG shown in the plans doesn't work. Also, the battery tray is set too high which makes using higher C-rated batteries, which are thicker, impossible. I have remover the battery tray from in front of the elevator servo forward and created a lower tray so I can now use those needed higher C-rated batteries. Using a 4-S battery, 25C rated, and a very light sixty amp ESC, the plane struggled to gain speed and stay in the air, this before the modifications I just mentioned. With the mods., I hope the next flight will be more successful. The CG I used, recommended by other plane owners, was about 30-32 mm from the intake edge. One other mod. I did was to make the nose cone removable. I used a T-nut placed in a rounded piece of light-plywood and glued to the blunt front of the plane. I decided to do this because I figured it would allow me a place to add lead weight for adjusting the CG. Works really well but, because I could not move the battery enough forward on that first flight to get the CG where I wanted it, I added 3/4 ounce to the nose cone which probably made the plane just a bit too heavy. I can now get the CG where I want it without that extra lead. Wish me luck.”

“Great Flying Scale Jet! - (Here's the secrets!)I keep seeing people trying to rediscover how to balance and fly this little sport. Here's how we were able to make it so easy to set-up and launch.I was fortunate to have 4 buddies who had bought the same aircraft and showed me what to do to get it to fly right before I bought mine.- We use 2200 3S batteries - they shove into the nose without modification and the CG is perfect!- I cut one of the ply cross-members on the servo tray to put the receiver below the tray and out of the way for the battery. (I use Spektrum)- I trimmed (2) of the cheater ribs in the lower intake so I have a place to grip (pinch) the airframe just below the CG for hand launch. It does not affect the looks and makes it so much easier to handle!I put on 25 flights on the first day. I only had to stop after trying to limbo under a barbed wire fence and clipping the tail!I have hundreds of flights on mine and pictures of it flying formation with other F9F's.I have been able to touch and go from runways and short grass without landing gear!I bought another as my 1st is getting a nickname as 'lumpy' due to my entanglements with ground based obstacles!I recommend this aircraft to anyone who has some flight experience!”

“I had flown a trainer before buying this EDF and it was surprisingly easy to fly. I read a lot about CG difficulties, but using a 2200 mah battery all the way up front worked nicely. It is fast but still easy to fly and you can perform slow landings without power.”
