This is a fun LITTLE jet. It will definitely get your adrenaline flowing! It's definitely not a leisurely craft nor a floater; you have to be on top of your game for this one. It gets small pretty quickly, too, at under 22 of wingspan, so be prepared to “turn and burn”... often.I've flown it with 1800mAh and 2200mAh packs set all the way to the rear of the radio compartment. It handles either battery pack just fine, no modifications to the airframe required. The control throws recommended in the manual are ridiculously aggressive. Reduce them by half to start. I am not a fan of the mechanically linked elevators and flaperons. The roll is very snappy, but pitch control is mushy by comparison since the flaps and elevator are working against each other. Essentially, they are snap flaps that go the wrong way. I will be adding 2 more servos and mixing the aileron function with the elevators to retain roll control and removing the flap action completely with elevator input (up and down). This will also allow flaps to be used for landing - the one time you really DON'T want to be dumping lift with up flap deflection. Try not to land dead-stick, as this jet (much like the real one) drops like a brick once the power is gone.Dutch roll is noticeable with this jet. The wingspan is small with a lot of sweep, so the effect is less damped by the jet’s low roll inertia than on longer, heavier wings. My Freewing 64mm F-86 (33” WS) does not have nearly the Dutch roll that this jet does.Unlike another reviewer, I won’t drop a star because I bought a small airplane and then complain that it’s small. But it is small. However, I think this EDF would benefit from separate flap servos, and that is worth at least a star. Would the price go up? Probably, but 2 servos that retail for about $7 still shouldn’t put the price above $120.Overall, the plane looks great and flies okay. I am certain it will fly better after I decouple the elevators and flaperons. It definitely needs to have an experienced pilot at the sticks. I understand why some have struggled with this ship, especially with the very aggressive control throw recommendations. It is certainly NOT adequate for a second or even third (much less a first) airplane, but if you can handle a fast pattern ship, hotliner, or snappy aerobatic bird, you will probably have success with this beautiful model of “the Last Gunfighter”.

Very nicely made plane. Looked great. Was hard to control do to the single controller. My son lost it on it's maiden flight as it crashed in a farmers field and was not recoverable. He had control but it was hard to see at the distance it was and was upside down, so an attempted climb, power dived into the ground.

I have purchased MANY planes and this one takes the cake. Came with a defective ESC and motor. Replaced both (ESC at my own expense) and still could not get this plane in the air with very experienced fliers helping along the way. I've seen many blogs saying you need to fly it with a 4 cell to get it up. That's unfortunate because it's advertised as a 3 cell plane, not a 4 cell. The Instructions for configuring Ailerons and elevators are very weak. BIG disaapointment!

What a great little plane. 3s flys good and get about 4 min on an 1800mah battery. I had an old 64mm stinger I pulled the ESC out of and wow. The move to 4s and 2200mah battery this thing came alive. Also achieved 4min flight with mixed throttle. The thing to remember as with all hand launchers it’s a light toss NOT a hard throw! This one will almost fly right out of your hand. Before gluing the wings on cut the battery bay about 4in back to achieve cg with out adding weight. I used. 1/8” dia carbon spare stuck through the side and cut flush with the outside of plane so the battery would not fall into duct. Hope this helps some have a successful experience. It truly is a great plane to toss and go :)

Beautiful foam. Equally at home on the field or on your bookshelf. People think it’s a scale plastic model all of the time.

Because I long for an A7 Corsair or F8 Crusader in 80mm form (or above), I decided to curb my appetite with this small 64mm offering from Freewing. I prefer higher wingloading, scale take-offs and landings. As such, I decided to use a 3500kv power system behind a low pitched 12 blade fan unit and landing gear. Let me tell you, this is not for the faint of heart because stall speed is now higher. Too sharp of a turn will make this thing drop like a sack of potatoes and landings are hot. But boy, don't the high speed flybys with the rumbling sound of a turbine powerplant make you giggle with glee! I am running a 2200 4S shoved way in the back and then some. By that I mean I had to carve out some foam to meet CG. I gave it 3 stars because I still think this jet is way too small. I wear corrective contact lenses which enable me to make out a squirrel making obscene gestures at me from a mile away, and yet, this jet is still VERY hard to see. That being said, keep the jet as close as you can. It will be a little harder to do on a 2200 4S because of the wider turns, but it can be done. Please check out my maiden and subsequent flights on my channel - Model Jet Juggernaut.
