“I love this plane! It flys just as good as it looks however it is not for beginners or under skilled pilots. It requires throttle upon landing and not too much alpha. Land it shallow and long is what I like to say. Don't be discouraged by those who left a bad review because of its stall tendency. Its a Tomcat with long skinny wings, of course it's gonna stall if you get it too slow. And please keep the gyro ON and use flaps to land! Think of the flaps for generating LIFT and not so much for slowing down. Anyways its a damm Awesome plane! And I hate the bad rap its getting from under skilled pilots.”

“So I really hate to write this review. This jet is the only Freewing jet that made me feel “ripped off”. I bought the aircraft on the eve of its release.I hate the way this plane “flew” stockI gutted the thing, replaced all servos with Promodeler, and all new hardware. Replaced the wing sweep servo arms with titanium turnbuckles and captured ball links.Dubro low bounce, treaded wheel/tires.I bypassed the stock gyro, I am running a FRSKY TDSR12 stabilized receiver so I can do my own mixing. Even after everything I have done, this plane just isn't much fun for me to fly. When I get a chance I will remove all of the upgrades and sell it or hang it in my office for display.”

“This is a model that needs care when assembling and setting up, and is certainly for the more experienced pilot. Motion needs to feed back to Flightline about the lack of glue on the flap hinges and must be checked before the first flight. Take your time setting up and you will have a great looking model both on the ground and especially in the air.”

“Detail of this model is excellent, and the upgrades added over the 80mm version is a big plus. I would recommend double checking the flap hinges. After reading some reviews in HS, I decided to check mine and discovered that the right wing had little to no glue on the hinges, and the left wing had a tad bit more, but all hinges were relatively easy to pop off. I would also recommend upgrading the wing-sweep pushrods connectors. Other than that, great plane. Not a beginner plane, but easy to manage.”

“Been hesitant to buy the twin 80mm Tomcat for years as it is just a bit too much for me. This one is right in the sweet spot! Love the details, lighting, strong landing gears, gyro “safe” system and powerfull twin 64s. It is not a beginners plane, not only because of flying skills but also understanding of the gyro effects and the planes’ aerodynamics. You need to read the plane and take into account the typical high wing-load behavior- just like the real one. It flies simply superb and I LOVE IT”

“This is one of my favorite planes now. It looks amazing and has much more power than its 80mm sibling. Its also pretty convenient to transport. This plane fly's great, but it is not a trainer. Its a heavier jet, it stalls when you get slow, and will drop a wing in tight turns if you pull too hard, exactly what you'd expect from this type of aircraft. If you have experience flying other similarly heavy and fast jets, flying this should be no issue. Land with some speed and be gentle with the flare and it will come in beautify. It handles slow speed and high alpha surprisingly well with the wings back, such that I've landed and taken off in that configuration without any issues (it actually seems much more stable in slow flight with the wings back than with them forward). I had no quality issues on the one I bought, but I also did a pretty thorough check of all the components. Check the direction of the gyro stabilization, as there is a known issue with the elevator correcting the wrong way. Again, an easy catch, and an easy fix (switch the two elevator wires in the control board) if you do a pre-flight check. All in all I love this thing, but it does take some skill.”
